Hello

I just bought a new 2017 Ford Mustang Premium GT 5.0 Convertible, Lightning blue with a black soft top. The Winter road grime in Northern Virginia is reducing the luster of the car so I want to start some sort of program.

I bought a Green Earth Technologies 1400 PSI power washer, with premium grade Green Earth lance foam shampoo. I won't get the spray too close to the car as to damage the paint.

I will clay bar the car with a 160g Yosoo product after that but I wasn't sure if I should use swirl remover or just go to a carnauba wax and shine enhancer using my Porter Gable polisher with a polishing wheel and Lambs wool polishing pad cover.

What is necessary for a new car?

Congratulations, I love the newer Mustangs.

The quickest/easiest thing to do, if you have a Porter Cable DA, would be a Cleaner wax or an "all in one" with good quality polishing pads.

The reason I recommend the above is because you can clean the paint, polish, and protect at the same time. You may also get some light marring from using clay.

Or use a dedicated polish and then follow up with a wax or sealant.

I don't think I would use a wool bonnet on a DA for polishing.

I am compelled to defer any of my
suggestions for your 'Stang's first
wash/polish, until the SCOTUS' final
decision is reached on the below EO:

Sounds like a great combo. Where in Nova?

I would wash, do a decon with iron x, clay, inspect for swirls, if swirled I would polish and then apply a wax/sealant or coating. Something to last you through the winters. I would research to see what the best fabric protector is and use that on your top.

If you have a garage, take the time and do it right the first time.
