I just picked up a focus ST that was built the last day of January. Is it safe to put wax on the paint or should I wait till the standard 90 days. The reason we get snow and cdot uses mag chloride and I want some protection on the car

You can wax it, you'll be fine.

Congrats on the ST, they are really nice. I drive a "regular" 2012 Focus

Yea you can wax it. Manufactors bake the paint so I believe it's ok as soon as it rolls off the assembly line. Enjoy it an post pics!! I love the look of those cars. Did you get the tangerine?

Thanks guys. We have a 12 titanium with handling pack and I got a 2013 ST tangerine scream to match or 04 screaming yellow Mach 1. The ST is a ST 3 package with leather sun roof and nav. Pics to come soon.

Beautiful! That color looks fantastic when it's all clean. A guy up the street from me has one in that color...I've been thinking of asking him if I can detail it just so I can spend some time with that awesome car. :props:

If the paint needs it clay or speedy prep too. Then go with Colly 476s or 845 for the winter. Or even better, go with a selant like BFWD or DG105 and then top with Colly 476s or 845.

Yep, polish and EXO your ST asap!!

I have a 12' Focus Ti, in Kona Blue. I cannot wait until the season of salt...or winter is over to install the Ford Racing Handling kit and then spend an entire weekend completely detailing my beautiful car!! I miss detailing :(

I did a quick wash and wax today I have 2 days off work next week when I'll take some more time to polish the car out and seal with opti coat 2.0 on the body and wheels.

American Cars are great to see as they are a work of art and have so many customization options. Collinite 845 or 475 and blackfire wet diamond would be a great combo on that car, congrats

Congratulations on the ST! :props: I have the same care minus the sunroof. By polishing you will be able to extract a lot more gloss from the car. Mine hasn't been fully polished yet but here is a small test spot on the roof, you can see how much the clarity can be improved.
