Just bought a PC 7336-SP. Will these pads suffice?

I am currently looking at pads on this page. I am looking into getting white, gray, and blue pads. Currently, I use the Zaino Pro system. Will these pads suffice or should I get different ones? Also, I know nothing about backing plates. Which should I buy? (My paint job has no swirls, haze, or holograms. Just a few lite scratches around the rear passenger side door handle.)

The Lake Country pads are excellent. You would use the 5'' yellow backing plate with the DA pads. :)

I would highly recommend skipping the backing plates and get the edge 6" da pad set, its cheap, I think its still $99.00, and comes with five pads, adapter, xmt pad conditioner and cleaner and some mfs. They are extremly easy to use, self centering, and its like having two pads in one. I used to use LC pads, but after the edge pads I'll never use anything else.

Excessive Detail can you show me what your talking about?

What is "DA" (dual action?)?

Also, I have the 7336 which came with the 6" counterweight. So I would by the 5" backing plate with the 6.5" pads right?

:iagree: The Edge pad system is great! The pads center perfectly every time and you just flip them and keep going . :) A kit is the most cost effective way to go. :)

Okay, thanx everyone thus far, but there is one thing I don't quite understand about the Edge system. The center piece, how does it connect to the pad? Is there something in the center of the pad where the Adapter doesn't touch the part of the pad that contacts the surface of the paint?

I know its a simple question but I didn't see that in the explantion link.

There is a video in the explanation link. It's located where the different pads and prices are shown. It explains and shows the system. Shows you the "backing plate" which is "sandwiched" between the pads and what the adapter locks into.

Okay, i'm sold on the EDGE system. Now, since I use Zaino Z-2 and Z-5, I only need two (white and blue) pads correct? I could use one to apply and take off the Z-5, and I could use the other to apply and take off the Z-2. Is this correct? Or should I just get the kit for $40 bucks more? (two pads and adapter = $60)

Instead of making a whole new thread, i'll ask here. When I am ready to remove the Z-5 (pro) residue after working it in with the PC, should I just use a micorfiber towel to remove it or a bonnet? The same question goes for the Z-2 (pro). I see that EDGE does not have bonnets in the link. However, after watching the videos, I was thinking that the Lake Country bonnets would work. Is this true?

EDIT** I just took another look at the EDGE kit ($100) and noticed it included 2 terry bonnets for removal. Looks like i'll get the kit after all!!!

Geez, you guys have been a lot of help and I want to thank you all! I'll post before and after pics of my next detail. (As soon as I get my pads, I am going to do my car again. I did it the first time by hand and micorfiber towels. This time i'll do it with the PC and EDGE pads!)

it's a great kit! i love mine. As for removal with a MF bonnet that's up to you. i haven't used the Zaino system, but when it comes to removal of any product for me, i just buff off by hand with a MF, but like I said it's your own personal preference. :)

If you are just using the PC to only apply Zaino, then get the white finishing pad. Since you are not doing any paint correction, there is no need for anything other then a white finishing pad.

Now, if you are looking to do some paint correction in the future, I'd spend the money now and get a kit with a variety of pads.

Zaino is a pure sealant with no abrasives so there is no need to work it in...just thin, thin coats.

Terry bonnets should work fine but I'd recommend MF over terry for removal via PC.

Good luck!

You will be happy with the Edge kit. In the long run its cheaper! Two pads in one!

Checkout Adam's car polishes, they have edge pads with 2 diffrent pads on each side! you can polish and wax with 1 pad
