Just bought a Tornador Black

Ordered from AG couple days ago, excited to use it. Going to use Meg's APC+ diluted for cleaning engines, seats etc.

Read quite a few posts and am anxious to get the technique down.

Of all my purchases, this has me geeked up the most. Of course, I felt that way about the VX5000 and was never more let down. That thing is worthless for soiled carpets/seats.

Keep my fingers crossed.

The Meg's APC+ and the Tornador will quickly become your favorite combo! The Tornador is by far my favorite detailing tool. Once you get the technique down you will be amazed how much quicker you are with heavily soiled interiors.

One hint to go... be very careful NOT to get the cleaning solution on windows. It will streak like no tomorrow and will take forever to get off with glass cleaner.
 
How do you like the tornador on engine bays and door jambs? I feel like that would be where it would really come in handy. I hate doing engine bays and door jambs!
 
In the door jambs APC+ can really streak.

Right now I am using Einzett Blitz. It is nowhere near as powerful as APC+, but it has a lovely scent and it does a great job on interiors.
 
Have plenty of clean microfiber towels and then hold one in front of the path of spray as you're working on a surface to catch any overspray and to also catch any grime you're blowing/forcing off with the tornado air power coming out of the gun.

Can you tell me what kind of compressor you have? I'am interested in buying a Tornador also. Thank you.

You need something that can run at 5 SCFM. Around 30 Gallons will do you well.

In the beginning I used my little PC compressor at 2.6 SCFM. It worked fine but you had to give it breaks as to not blow the motor.

It works very well for those areas I use mine for seats,engine bays,tires,wheels,etc, there are really no limits with this thing.

One thing I can say is to use safety glasses and one of those white masks, you don't want to breath in chemicals that are floating in the air, sometimes I look away from what I'm doing and its a cloud of APC .

Which APC are you using? I have only had that from higher foaming stuff like OPC

This is something that puzzles me. When I tried APC+ in the tornador black on a small compressor (under the 5 SCFM) it clouded up. On a big compressor it didn't cloud up.. same PSI.. I don't understand it!

Nice list of products. You need to try M101! I've been a M105/205 fan for years and M101 is even better.

Okay back on topic. TB is pretty awesome. It took me a while to unpack and try it out. I detailed door jams trunk lids, engine bay, gas cap and a trashed floor matt, parts of an interior. I did all this with APC+. Results were great. Easy tool to use. For carpets I want to try diluted Folex and see how that comapres to the APC+.

So far I'd have to say the TB sines on engine bay details and cleaning carpets. I think I'll warm up to it on interiors but I had some dripping problems from the vent holes in the cap. My solution was electrical tape on the holes and no more dripping. I know this was my techinque tipping the jar over too far but that was the only negative I expierenced.

BTW I used a Sears 5hp 25 gal oiless compressor 15amp circut and it ran fine. I have a Silentaire oil compressor I really want to try but I need to do an oil change on it. I think this one will be challenged running the TB. It's silent which is great for detailing. This compressor is great for interior compressed air, cleaning mf pads tire inflation and some air tools.
 
My Tornador black with Optimum Power clean leaves a serious cloud inside my garage after using just a few minutes. It sure is a sweet detailing tool, I highly recommend it

I c u do a lot with it but every1 says use a 30 gallon air compressor. I don't have that. What is the smallest I can get away with or how can I get around the big air compressor factor?Feed back please

Great advice! This will become second nature to grab a towel when you grab the tornador.

This tool is easily the biggest TIME SAVER in the shop. It allows you to clean a door panel in 2 minutes

What size compressor do you have?

My Harbor Freight 20 gallon keeps up, but I wouldn't want anything smaller.

There is not much you can do to make up for an under sized compressor aside from getting a second one and running them in parallel, by then you might as well just spend $300 at Harbor Freight. I saw one guy plumb one of those portable air tanks down stream of his compressor to increase storage. Will just take forever to fill at that point though it would cut down on the cycling on and off.
