Just got my pc and i cant even use it!!!! help

its probably normal... and you dont need wave pads, just get the regular edge 2000 foam pads, wave pads are mainly for rotary polishers becaus of the heat transfer.

the PC is a unique machine. you really cant compare it to another orbital.

If you say you "barly hold on at speed 5" something is wrong, i dont find my PC hard to hold at speed 5 or 6 myself.

Do you hold it against the car or out in the air?

Thats probably why it shakes badly, shouldnt be that bad when you use it on the car.

Still i cant say my PC shakes when hold in the air. I never tryed that

It will vibrate like a banshee in the air...need to have on a surface...its a free wheeling concentric drive....try in on a surface next..polish your washing machine to get a feel of it...by holding in the air the energy transfer does not go to the pad...it vibrates the machine..

I notice when I am polishing and when I am ready to shut it off I lift it off the paint..the vibration gets intense then..much less on the paint..

Does it spin freely without being on? Meaning, take the pad and simply turn it with your fingers. Does it spin with ease??

Following along with your sig... should it spin, or should it not spin?

I guess I'll echo the above. The PC does vibrate. I use 7.5" pads with a 5" counterweight and don't have any issues so your 6.5" should be fine. If you were expecting to buy a machine with a 6" counterweight you should have bought the PC 7336. The 7424 comes with the 5" but luckily you can buy the 6" if you feel the need to. Make sure the pad is perfectly centered and make sure you actually use it this time and then report back to us....

Another thing to keep in mind, the counterweights are marked "use only with 5" or 6" in reference to a 5 or 6 inch velcro backed sandpaper disc, which weighs significantly less than any foam pad.

You said you have your own detailing business?

Yeah--that's what he said, and his first detail with the PC is going to be a Masseratti.

I think it will throw the pad right off, particularly at 5 or 6. I may have done this early on in my learning process. I know my son did, because I ducked just in time--BOTH times! I assume it was accidental on his part.:)
It was exciting, though.

Hey all, The PC will shake like crazy when held in the air. Not recommened, good way to smoke a pad laden with product.

I don't have a PC (coz we use 240 volt in our country) but I have 4 different DA cum sander machine. 1 of them does vibrate and wobble a lot. It's becoz of the backing plate which is not stable. I use my hand to move it up & down. It will shake up & down (roughly bout 1mm up & down - right & left). And those sander machine can't really change the backing plate, u can only change the velcro plate. :( Anyhow I still got 3 machine to use.... Hehehe. :)

hm i think you should stick with it a little longer. im sure you are just experiencing normal vibrations from the pc. when i first started using my pc i couldnt handle it at all, i would get fatigued very quickly. but then i got used to it and now its a breeze.
