Hello, everyone just saying hi from New Hampshire.... im sure no one knows where that is i signed up after buying a few products for my new car but im not quite sure on a product to clean my interior, i have no clue what the last owner used, so i would like to "strip" it down and use a 303 product. sooo what cleaner should i use?

Thanks, Kris

Welcome and congrats on the new car. And BTW I know where NH is quite well :).

As for the interior, you can use an APC diluted, a mix of Woolite detergent and water (10:1) or just apply a product that has cleaners in it, which I believe 303 does (I know Meguiar's #40 does off the top of my head).

thanks for the quick reply, im surprised most people think NH is a province in canada, lol

If you find 303 a little more matte than wanted interior-wise, consider the Poorboys Natural Look. I used the former and switched as I like clean and new with no gloss or matte surface personally.

I have tried a lot of different products on leather but I always seem to go back to Connolly Leather Cleaner and Connolly Hide Care. I find 303 to be reall streaky. I would never use it on leather.

I assumed (maybe wrong) he was specifically talking about doors/dash/surrounds not leather specifically.

Welcome to the Corvette club, there are several people on here with one. As far as the interior goes I use 1Z cockpit Premium and Leathermasters for the seats. Woolite is not good for interiors so stay away from that. What year is your vette and also welcome to AG.

Thanks everyone, its a 2005 z51, 6 speed red convertible, i got it w/ 12853 miles on it.. i picked it up three weeks ago and put a few miles on it.. like 600 :) , they sure are fun to drive, what can i say.

I use "303 Cleaner" 30:1 on interiors. I have another bottle at 20:1 for stubborn spots.
DP Total Interior Cleaner is another good one.

I think you'll find a lot of people disagree with you here. There may be alternative cleaners however Woolite diluted with water is really good at general cleaning dash boards and cup holders, especially when they are really dirty or have a layer of grime and dust. Plus after you mix up a batch you can use it to clean MF towels.

If you would pay attention to some of the other boards there is very good info on why woolite should not be used on automotive carpeting. Just like dawn dish liquid is not good for washing a vehicle.

There are better carpet cleaners, yes, but that's not what is being talked about in this post. Woolite in a pinch is still a good, safe cleaner for dashes and plastic pieces.

first off budman, do you own a vette, secondly we are here to help people and help them with using the correct products for said job. Woolite once again is not to be used for the dash and carpets, please give proper/correct info to people on here since this isn.t the first time for incorrect info from you I do not like to see forum members giving mis-information to someone who is just getting into this.

LETS KEEP THIS CIVIL ...

I have not heard about anything Woolite related, so please share. I have used it diluted with nice success on headliners only. Please tell me so I dont harm friends/family or others ...

Headliners?

Not a good idea sir.

Welcome Kris. Wish I could say welcome to the vette club, but Im not there, yet. Anyways, you've got a nice car so lets use quality products on it. For the dash, steering wheel, and all around interior surfaces (except leather and glass), and pedals, use 1Z Cockpit Premium. PM me if you want more info on it.

For the leather, get yourself some Leather Masters.

Thanks, everyone for your time. i just have another quick question. how clean does the car have to be in order to put the cover on it? i have an outdoor cat and i cant leave it uncovered...or else

Anytime you touch the paint you risk scratching it.

I would only cover after being cleaned, once driven it would be too dirty to cover. Vette clear is very easy to scratch and very hard to correct, so the less it gets touched the better off you are.
