Had the opportunity do paint correction for my first customer today. Got the car all washed, clayed , and taped off. About four hours into the detail and my 6"'griot's up and dies. Sounds like it threw an internal bearing. Here is the only pic I got. Hopefully can finish once they replace it. Sad thing is that this is only the 4th time I've used it. :(

That just isn't right......

It pays to have a few in reserve just in case...:props:

Looking good so far! :props:

You could go to Harbor Freight and get a DA for $50, keep it as a back up.

:iagree: If your doing this as a business you need to have a couple in case this happens. First question what kind of extension cord are you using?

Sorry to hear that. From what I've heard, Griot's customer service is top notch. Get with them immediately and they should help you out. Sucks you're that far into a detail and it dies, though. :(

I contacted griots already. I just have to send it back. I don't do it full time just as a hobby. I'm full time military so this is for fun. :)

Lesson learned. Chalk it up to experience.:dblthumb2:

Could have been worse...spindle separation or other paint damaging action.

Looking forward to future posts.
