Ordered the 7424xp kit that has both backing plate. Added extra 4" and 6.5" pads. I had a detaining company in the past and this machine buffing is all new to me. I have learned so much from this forum. My 97 Torch Red Vett is going to get a full correction. It shines very good now but I know it will get even better now. I will also do the wifes Liberty. This way I can show her that the money sent is well worth it.

Big thanks out to Nick at AG for all the help with my order and recommondations.

Any extra tips from all you pros would be great.

I just finished buffing my car for the first time with the pc i recieved a few weeks ago. It is a great beginners machine, very easy to handle.

I would recommend ear plugs or ear buds to help with the noise, after 6 hours i got a bit of ringing.

Umm, are you sure you got the 6.5" pads? Reason I'm asking is that it is rather well known on the forums that the PC XP doesn't do well with 6.5" pads. You would be well served to call and have them replaced with 5.5" pads. I have one 6.5" pad that I got free with some sealant. It's BARELY acceptable for spreading sealnats and waxes. I sure wouldn't want to try to polish with it.

5.5 inch pads will be a huge difference, get them now so you don't regret it later.

Congrats on the new machine!

Ditto on the 5.5 pads

Congratulations. You've got a great tool, but as the others have said, you'll get better performance from the 5.5" pads.

in your original post you said you'd be buying a Flex DA which would spin pads of any size effortlessly. I

think you need to call about those 6.5 inch pads before they ship...

Just got laid off so had to go with the PC, maybe if when I get back to work and also learn the PC then I can get the Flex.

You will love it. Just take your time to get good results. Slow arm movement is key.

You'll be fine with the 6.5in pads. Just be sure to install the washer that comes with the machine and keep the pads flat while polishing. I did my first round of correction with the larger pads and had great results, I now have both sizes and they both have benefits but don't be worried about the larger ones.
