What do you do with your mt300 nowadays? I'm actually kind of in the position where I wish I had just shelled out the extra money for a g15 right up front, because using 3" pads with my mt300 isn't really a great experience (definitely doable, just not really enjoyable.) I also really dislike the chasis of the mt300. I really prefer the PC style bodies, and if anything, I should've got the GG6. Especially since it's cheaper.
I've been considering selling it and upgrading, but I wonder who would really be interested in buying it at this point. The yellow lettering on mine wore off pretty quickly, which was disappointing.
My mt300 sits with a 6” bp on it for blue/black ccs pads for wax/sealant/glaze spreading. Though to be honest I’ve been using my g15 with a 5.5” blue flat pad for spreading power lock to avoid having to swap machines.
I prefer the long body machines myself. I think the only way to go up from a mt300 in power in a pc style chassis would be the rupes duetto.
I also have a gg3 that’s “good enough” with LC thinpros but I plan on upgrading to probably the rupes mini unless someone can sway me into going with the flex mini instead.

That's actually what I'm kind of worried will end up happening with my mt300, honestly. I did consider getting the duetto, but it really doesn't seem to get a lot of love around the forums, with the 15/21 polishers being around.
I guess my thought process is just that if I'm going to need to use smaller pads to get around my bumpers, pillars, mirrors, etc, thoroughly, then having a machine dedicated to using 3 or 4 inch pads would probably make sense if my main machine I'm using was something like the g15. Needing to size down in pads, using my mt300 just doesn't really do it for me.
I just don't really see a scenario where having another long body tool would serve a real "purpose" other than to just collect dust.
In my head having a gg3 and a g15 just seems like a pretty solid combo for someone like me that really just does my own car and my families cars, and occasionally a buddies.
I'll have to bring Ravishing Rick Rude back.Paul, I'm back.

Dannnnnnnn!!!! Awesome!!!!! Some lucky ladies are in for a "Rude Awakening"!!
At one time we all had our first steps. 12 pads are a lot compared to one cutting and one polishing.
I'm just going to reiterate what others have said one here regarding pads.
I'd just use the one you have until they wear out, and from there try a dedicated long throw designed pad.
I personally don't have a preference on thick vs thin foam pads, and I also find that Rupes and Lake Country HDO pads work good with my Porter Cable. My associate even uses the HDO on his 3401.
He was looking for a pad line that would work on his Rupes 21, Flex 3401, and PC 7424xp, and those LC HDO were my recommendation.
That being said, my favorite 8mm random orbit pad is still the Lake Country Hydrotech... I talk a lot about my Buff and Shine pads, but nothing come close to the functionality I get with those Hydros. I have used them on one car with my Duetto, but I'm guessing prolonged use would destroy them. So... I just keep them on the PC.
Are you keeping the gg6?
No I think I’m letting the gg6 go

I love to buy and sell stuff but I personally think you'll regret getting rid of the GG6. It's such a workhorse and versatile from the standpoint of you can convert it to a 3" DA or you can use your Rupes to correct and use the GG6 with a 6" or 5" backing plate to be a dedicated wax machine.
