Ive been wanting a power washer for a while and a family member got one for me :props::props::props: Then went on another site and bought an mtm cannon/lance (they call it lance on the box) I now recieved the mtm lance today !!! I have a quick connect fitting on the power washer and on the lance I have two adapters. Once is a quick connect fitting and one is a screw on threaded piece. I was wondering how I would attach the quick connect piece as there is oddly no place for me to do so

You screw it right onto the lance body---assuming you are using standard 1/4 QD on your gun nozzle.....the latter threaded is for the guns using M22 if I recall

you need the 1/4 quick connect...

That piece was included but there is a karcher bayonet on and I need to get it off to put on the quick connect

you unscrew that piece and screw in the above quick connect (with some pluming tape to help reduce leaks) and you should be in business...

Yea thats what I figured out. Just hard to get off. Any ideas how to?

try using a crescent wrench, it looks like there is a threaded area below the fitting...

LOL Visitor. Bill, I presume you are not trying to do this by hand ?
You need a hand tool....both to get fitting off and on....so the thing doesn't leak or go flying

Yes. First by hand returned nothing. Then tried some wd40 and a plumbers wrench. I really do not know what would work

No need for WD40. It's wrench tighthed- same goes for re-assembly. Just wrench tight. No need to torque it down till it cracks. Just get it snug tight, and then turn the wrench another 1/2 revolution.

I dont know how to remove the karcher fitting to add in a quick connect though

First of all, I'm fascinated that you're reading "How To Win Friends and Influence People" (in the background of your picture). Is it helping?

Second of all, Bill, you're a woodworker, right? Do you have a vise? Ideally you would want to hold that part in a vise, across the axis of the knurled fitting and the black knob, however it looks a little fragile in that direction. I can't see exactly because you have a red circle in the way, but I believe what you need to unscrew is the silver hex between the Karcher adapter and the body. So looking "into" the Karcher adapter, that's counter-clockwise.

There is a hex on the body of the contraption, so if it were me I'd try to get a wrench on those flats (at an angle to clear the protrusions), then another wrench to remove the silver doohickey. It might help to take the nozzle off the other end if you can figure out how to do that, to give you some more wrench clearance.

Pipe threads are usually pretty tight so expect that.

I don't have a foam cannon so if I've given Bill a bum steer, someone please let me know.

In your pic, just unthread it off the silver coupler

Yeah but he wants a QD end, so he's got to unthread the "silver coupler" from the body of the device, because I'm presuming that coupler has a MNPT end that's threaded into the Karcher adapter.

Correct Setec. i was just typing a 1 liner....let me extrapolate further

From the brass body of the lance, you have a double ended male coupler - the silver item in your pic.
One end of the coupler is attached to the lance. The latter end is the Karcher fitting.

You should be able to remove it all in-1 shot but taking a wrench and removing/unscrewing the silver item in your pic.

Should you decide to do double work, you can always take a wrench to hold the silver in place, and then a adjustable pliers and remove the Karcher fitting 1st, and then remove the silver piece.

No need to vise it.
Literally, just get a wrench on the silver part, hold the foam lance body steady and you should be able wrench it loose.

I was just thinking about Bill's safety, it's always easier/safer to wrench something loose if it's immobilized. I'm going to guess you and I have swung a lot more wrenches than Bill.

Bill

Couple of more ramblings
If you're going to vise it, the area to grip is the round part where the bottle screws in. That is the widest part.

Reality, we're all over-thinking it. It feels really tight, but as long as you hold the body snug, a simple ~torque ~ movement to loosen it from the threads is all ya need. I know, I know - easier said than done...

Im just reading how to win friends and influence people for my own enjoyment. It was recommended by others. Not really a helping part. I have wrenches I could use but no vise. The piece is fragile in a vise and id not want to do so.
