First - Hi to all!!! I'm not a car detailer just a guy that wants his 1st new car in 32 years(Yea you read it right) to look better then my neighbors. Looking to to purchase a DA polisher and of course its between PC7424xp and G110V2Feed back please
I just need someone to steer me with advice as to which one or Kit to start with. I'm just a tad confused on what really comes with the polishers ie backing pad, pads etc. Does both polishers have the clutch that stops when too much pressure is applied? Oh yea new car is 2011 Ford Edge, but have three daughters plus a wonderful wife that have cars I'll need to do. Thats about all for now. Almost forgot Happy Fathers Day to all!!!

Hello and welcome. Nice new car you have there, the wife has an '07. Happy Fathers Day.

:welcome:to AGO! You will get more answers to your questions if you start a new thread.

Happy Fathers Day to you !

Thanks for the reply. I have started to read some of the threads and have gotten some great info. Don't feel we need to post the same questions over again. This is
really a great source of info.

Congrats on the new car after 32 years! The economy thanks you for the purchase.

Do you need a polisher on a new car to remove paint defects or apply a pre-wax cleaner or apply waxes?

The DA's do not have a clutch despite some misinformation available. They slow down to some extent when the pad touches the paint and it works against the free spinning rotational motion of the pad. The pad is not directly driven by the motor.

Welcome to AG. You may want to include the Griots Garage DA in your search. There are numerous posts on the DA polishers for you to read.

Depending on your needs and personal preference you might be better off buying your items separately as opposed to the kit. For me, the kits always contained items that I didn't want or they were not available with 5 1/2" pads, etc.....

Good luck with your purchases and we look forward to seeing you around.

Welcome!

Just curious, where are you located?

I understand completely the costs of raising girls---our new toys often must wait. By the way, don't your girls have some men in their lives to help you out some? Or, are you like me---I sure don't trust 'em around my girls---why would I even think about 'em around my vehicles! :)

Happy Father's Day!!!

Bob
