Hey folks,

I just finished my first weekend-long foray into detailing with a dual-action machine. For the most part, I am happy with the results; however, I have a lingering problem and am looking for a solution.

The problem that I am having is that the G110 with hook/loop system has rendered my right arm virtually useless. On Monday morning, I woke up with my right hand swollen from the vibration and constant oscillation when the velcro pretty much quit working. I will not go through this again and am thinking about switching to the Edge pad system so at least the pad won't constantly be off-center.

What do you guys think? Short of upgrading to the Flex (no money in the budget for that!), do you think that the Edge system will make the process more enjoyable and less painful?

Thanks!

The DawgFeed back please

The edge pads IMO is too heavy for a DA. I bought a complete set and now it's on the shelf. Get some 5.5" and 4" pads. It will make correction easier, but will not stop the vibration.

I assume that you bought the set sold here for the DA machines?

I know this may sound like a dumb question but by too heavy are you meaning the weight to continually pick up and move the machine or just the force of the back and forth movement. I have the porter cable machine and have been looking at upgraging to the edge system. Being old and out of shape I'm aldeady a little worn out after a full afternoon on the PC.

I have a constantly used the edge system and and have no issue using them on my PC

i was pretty fatigued the first time I did a full 'detail' when I got my PC. I swore I'd be fine if I never went through that again. It's get easier.

^^^Agreed. My arms where shaking non stop due to the vibration with my 1st full detail with my UDM. I now use my Harbor Freight rotary (very cheap and works well) and it's not has hard on my arms.
