Hi guys just got myself some Meguiar's Detailer Glass cleaner concentrate and after diluting 10:1 with distilled H20 I am still getting streaking after using in on my interior glass. I have tried all types of MF towels and settled on WW as the best to avoid streaking. The glass looks really good and crystal clear after cleaning but the next day as I am driving and the sun catches my windshield I see streaks everywhere! Please help me this is driving me insane

I have followed all manufacturer instructions and dilutions guides. Am I diluting to much product to H20?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

ive never used megs glass cleaner ive always stuck to stoners invisible glass which is a great product. but make sure that you are wiping correctly. I fold my microfiber into a square, spray the glass and wipe with some pressure. then i spray it a second time to get the remaining dirt and wipe vertically and horizontally to make sure i got all areas. after i finish this i turn over the microfiber and wipe the glass with no spray, just clean microfiber. i never wipe in circular motions as its hard to judge where you have and havent wiped.

I'm not really sure what to tell you :(

Are your windows really dirty? You are doing the right thing by diluting it 10:1 as well as using distilled water. Maybe you can try using less product on the windows. The glass cleaner is a great product!

Hope you find a fix!

I have been useing Armor All glass cleaner latley and really like it. I have tried alot of different ones and always seem to be impressed with Armor All cleaner.

....its inexpensive and available at most places. It's worth a try

I also stoped useing my WW glass towells and went back to useing a blue paper towell that we use in our shop.

Sometimes the streaking is on the inside glass and is the result of vinyl, or the dressing used on it, evaporating in the hot sun. Other times it could be oily road grime on the outside. These deposits on the glass are often difficult to fully remove. I've found a pre-cleaning with white vinegar often helps and then followup with the Meg's glass cleaner.

Also, try cleaning the outside glass with vertical strokes and the interior with horizontal strokes. This will help you to see which side of the glass has the issue.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the quick responses. I have found that I need to wipe a few times after with a clean microfiber to remove any glass cleaner residue. But it also seems that in cold weather using the a/c to demist the windows causes the streaks, I think I just need to work on my technique. The country I live in is not geared to detailing so most of my products are imported and microfiber is generally hard to come by in local stores (they're all living in the cotton generation). Walmart might be buying one of our local store chains and hopefully then microfiber will arrive in full force! :props: I think my lack of proper glass cleaning mf is the 'thorn in my side'.

I will also look into diluting megs glass cleaner a little more as I think i might have been a bit generous in my pouring...

Thanks again!

Stronger concentrations of cleaner will result in streaking but the key here is to use a Microfiber Waffle Glass Towel and the result will be streak-free glass...:props:
