After spending all that money on products, polishers and nice microfiber towels I totally went all out doing my first REAL serious detail job inside and out on my Dodge Ram (pics in my introductory thread here)

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/introduce-yourself/82138-greetings-fellow-members.html

Anyway, based on what I read-wax shine tends to fade after awhile if not kept up to date and freshened up on a regular basis. After asking Nick from AG what I could do to maintain that deep shine for as long as possible he suggested doing a thorough wash every week using my FOAMY Pinnacle Body Shampoo, AND THEN going over the truck with the Pinnacle Souvern Spray Wax and a nice clean microfiber towel afterward! (Im a Pinnacle guy now)

Sure enough I did this yesterday and it came out looking as fresh as the day I spent all those hours waxing it with my Porter Cable 7424 and this spray wax goes on SO EASY its almost like you are simply wiping off water to be honest!! Therefore, I will keep up this process for a few months and then at the 6 month mark go ahead and do it all over again starting with the clay bar, polishing wax and then Souvern Wax as well. Thanks Nick for the good advice. I am the "show truck" type and not a dirt / mud slinger!
Im the MAN

May I suggest on the next go around Gunny, add IronX decon before claying, IronX helps remove paint contamination beyond what can be removed by washing or claying.

i would try a sealant also, it last longer than wax and you can use your spray wax for maintenance

•Just keep following Nick's advice...

-He would never steer you, or anyone else,
down the wrong detailing-road!!!

Thanks for the shout out. :dblthumb2:

Gunny polished his truck to a flawless finish using Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish, then applied Pinnacle Liquid Souveran to further enhance and protect the finish.

Gunny wanted protection that would last without sacrificing in the shine department - Liquid Souveran was the answer. With the recent reformulation, the formula gained more crystalline polymers that enable Liquid Souveran to last upwards of 5-6 months. Regularly washing the truck with Bodywork Shampoo and treating it to Liquid Souveran Spray Wax is the icing on the cake.

Excellent work. :dblthumb2:

Hey all. I need to say something.
Ive only been on this site perhaps two weeks and have found that the membership here is outstanding! I love how folks add extra comments and posts to one another in such a helpful and caring way! I appreciate every single one of you guys who pitch in and leave both super comments and things which will possibly help me prolong the look of my truck! You guys are GREAT and im so happy I decided to sign up here among you all. I cant even explain how much I despise some of my other forums where members go at each other by taking cheap shots and doing their best to belittle or embarrass someone by making themselves appear superior and we all know those "know it all" types who antagonize others almost picking fights from behind a keyboard!
Ive seriously peaked out on my PTSD a few times and would love nothing more than to find out where a member lives and see what they have to say to my face!!!

Ooooooookkkkkk. Well enough said on that my friends. What I really wanted to say is that I love it here and applaud you all here for being such true professionals and keeping up with one another with friendly advice and their own experiences which worked well for them in the past! ALSO-- Thank you Nick for even jumping in to join the thread which was really inspirational, just as Mike did in my introduction thread! This shows you guys lead from the front and im extremely impressed by that!

Im deeply sorry for this novel of a response here and will try my best to tone it down a bit in the future. Its actually a symptom of my PTSD to write at length. Thanks again for the comments and thanks so very much for allowing me into your forum family!! :)

That's great Gunny, I'm glad your here! I appreicate the diversity of talent and experiences here in the AG community - hobbyist/enthusiast to certified/bonafied pros including the AG family, everyone is willing to help. For me myself as a hobbyist with OCD, I enjoy sharing what I've learned here and passing it on...

No apologies necessary. Post what you think and feel. That's how we get to know one another.

A big thing (that I like) I notice about this forum is, little or no drama!

If folks disagree, that discuss it without bashing the poop out of each other. There is 'civility' here.

Just my 2¢...

I just got my free sample of Souveran Spray Wax. I've been using Crystal Mist, which I love, for a while now. Can't wait to try out the Souveran Spray!

Another benefit of the weekly wax or sealant spray refresh of the LSP is that you are also restoring the original slickness which wears away as well. This slickness makes the paint MUCH easier to wash the next time as dirt, bugs, etc., don't get as good of a grip on the paint.

This also is a great way to insure you have no remaining waterspots after your weekly wash and takes only a few minutes to apply.
