Kickstarter?

I have what may be a silly question. For those just starting out professionally, did you try a Kickstarter or crowdfunding campaign for cash to buy equipment? Is that even possible?

It's more for starting projects/merchandise for saleing to market

Gofund me would be more suiting
Bit I think it should be for something like donating for a real cause like medical bills for a sick kid or perhaps for schooling but its w.e people are willing to donate for...

Gofundme COULD work, would it actually? I don't know, but I remember a campaign on there for a person who want to send their dog to a doggy therapist lol. Not sure if it was a success, but anything's possible. And I remember the guy who started the Kickstart so he could try every menu at Chipotle and raised something like $5k. The Chipotle one was probably a success because of the absurdity of it, but some people will fund just about anything. And if even 400 people donated just a buck that's a new polisher or something.

i mean i guess it's a possibility... people frown upon gofundme stuff for anything other than a need such as medical bills, etc.
