Klasse AIO alternative...time to buy again

So from what I'm hearing, it sounds like the Klasse twins are 1) not as difficult to apply as I thought and 2) provide an excellent look. Like I said, I've used the AIO religiously, just never anything over top of it.
Also...

-For a "Quick Detailer Spray":
1:6 ratio of DGSG:UQD (approx. 1/2oz DGSG:8oz. UQD)

-For a "Detail Spray Wax":
1:4 ratio of DGSG:UDW (2oz DGSG:8 oz. UDW)

I think I've been doing something wrong after a couple of years of using Klasse AIO after reading Mike's article on the difference between cleaner wax and finishing wax.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...erence-between-cleaner-wax-finishing-wax.html

This quote is what opened my eyes but I want to make sure I understand. First, the quote: "If you were to use a cleaner/wax after using a dedicated cleaning and polishing process that would be what we call working backwards because you’re going back to the cleaning step and you’ve already done this step when you used the compound, polish or swirl mark remover."

As I understand it, Klasse AIO is a cleaner wax. I've been polishing first (using Pinnacle XMT in the past) and THEN hand applying Klasse AIO. From the way I read this quote, I've been doing unnecessary work because I'm basically polishing/cleaning the paint twice?

Yes and No would be my confusing answer to that. Yes in terms that polishing is also cleaning but no in terms that AIO does provide some protective qualities. Don't get in the habit of over thinking the process , if it works for you than that's perfect.
If you want to try something else like AIO try Duragloss 501 mixed in with 601, has cleaning properties and just a bit of abrasiveness, works nice as an interim step between polishing cycles.
If you want the full route then yes stick with what you like AIO followed by HGSG. I also like the Werkstat products as well.

Klasse twins topped with 845, that's my winter armor. :props:

Ive never tried Klasse AIO but i did two coats of Klasse High Gloss Sealeant after Meguairs Ulitimate Polish and topped it off with Meguiars Gold Class Paste wax and the results are very good. Id did it again, but a different wax thou. Gold Class does not last long. Still Klasse High Gloss Sealant gives me peace of mind for the winter season.

I've been a fan of Klasse since around 2001. used to do AIO x2, KSG x3, top with Souveran.

Current approach:
prep: clay/compound/polish as needed
base: AIO (x2 if you want to make sure you get excellent coverage)
seal: WGDGPS or BFWD (used to use KSG, now you can use other sealants, these are what I've used)
top: Pinnacle Souveran, Pinnacle SSII, Dodo Juice (flavor of choice), WG Fuzion, BFMS

maintain: WW+ concentrate as a cleaner/detail spray, ONR for waterless wash, BF Detail spray (lots of others, these are my current line up).

Nice part of this way is once you get a coat of AIO put on, you can do the others over time, as long as you wash the car. I've even done a panel or two a time at night for the "Top" step...

So you are adding a wax over top of the Black Fire Wet Diamond sealant? Does that do anything (not being a smart a$$, seriously asking because I'm a newbie for the most part)?

No worries on that question!

Topping a sealant with a wax is a fairly common practice amongst us enthusiasts. The wax "topper" gives a deeper, warmer, wetter looking shine. It probably helps a little for durability, since there is one more "sacrificial layer", but the lifespan of a good carnauba isn't really very long compared to a sealant. It's more for appearance.

Pinnacle, Wolfgang, and BlackFire all mention using a wax to top a sealant in their literature. BF even gave it a name - Fire over Ice (or something like that). They apparently have formulated the BF Midnight Sun wax to work well over the sealant (they use the same polymer system, and compliment each other).

"This wax creates incredible depth of shine on all paint colors with a hard, protective barrier to the elements. BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax is perfect on top of Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection or by itself."

With the AIO/KSG combo, I found the result to be kind of a hard "candy" kind of shine on my dark cars. The carnauba is a warmer, deeper kind of look. Very, very subtle difference, though.
