So yesterday I decided to tackle the swirls on the hood of my metallic grey Nissan Titan. Wasn't looking for flawless results.
Washed
Dried
Clayed

Test spot with orange LC CCS pad was great.
When I finished most swirls were gone. All looked good in the sun and under the lights at night. But then we had a frost and I can see a couple of holograms/buffer trails in the frost. Just wondering if this could be residue I didn't completely wipe off or if I need to polish it further with a finishing pad.
Once The frost went away I cannot see them, again.

My motto is if I can't see them then they don't exist.

Ghost swirls from swirls past?

Seriously.... do some troubleshooting

How?

Identify a section of paint with the defect you want to remover. Place a tape line down the middle of it. Re-polish just one side and then inspect the results. In your case, inspect the results the next time you have frost.

See if the holograms are removed from the side you re-polished but remain on the untouched side.

:)

Thanks for the replies. We are going from frost to 60 each day so I will try to troubleshoot today. I was thinking ahead and marked the spots with grease pencil this morning just wasn't sure what I was going to do, but I did want to be able to find them.

Klasse AIO is so easy to buff off almost no residue. If he used SG, then it could be excess product.

I'm guessing it's product that wasn't removed. I've been there...done that with Klasse. Mist or frost are about the only time you see them on a light colored car.

I used Sonus Spritz, which is rumored to contain Klasse SG with great success in cleaning up those areas.

Used a DA to apply.
I've gone over a test spot with a polishing pad and Klasse.
Another I used instant detailer to wipe clean. Guess I'll see in the morning. Either way it will be education.
