I'm in the market for new pads for my PC and the MF pads were brought up, but no one knows if KAIO would be a good product to use with the mf. Does anyone have any insight?

Before you guys start blasting Don with polish suggestions, he and I talked about this in the chat box, he's already got the KAIO so he wants to use that.

I tried it once, and it kind of gummed up the MF pad and didn't clean / brush off very well. Could have been a fluke, but I never tried it again, I just use foam pads with it.

So this can be done with a MF pad?

That's the point of the thread to see if anyone has tried this.

That's what I was afraid of, I told Don I liked the MF pads and he said he wanted to use KAIO with them, and I told him I had never done it and was concerned it might not work right. Thanks for the info.

Keep the replies coming!

I too tried kaio with mf pads was not thrilled, just did not play well together.

If your heart is set on KAIO look to foam for your pads.

By machine (PC):
My MF-pads (Meguiar's) didn't seem to play very well with KAIO...
Could the root-cause be due to the presence of an "acrylic"?

OTOH:
I've found that foam polishing-pads are ideal for KAIO application...
My favorite is Meguiar's Soft Buff foam polishing pads for this particular task.

Since I have been advised blow out the mf pads with an air compressor during buffing, would it be feasible to wash out the mf pads with a cleaner such as Murphy's Oil Soap (which I find to cut wax really well out of foam pads), then dry the pad with the air compressor. I know some polishes play nice with a mildly damp applicator and some don't.

Does anyone know if KAIO is one of the friendly ones?

I used KAIO with MF pads and the finish looks a little cloudy. I won't use the 2 together again. I like the MF pads with the PC but not with KAIO. I did find a smaller backing plate and pads are the way to go with a PC.

I'm about to do a 40' trailer with Klasse AIO. It's a fibreglass or metal panel trailer painted black.

Going to use the DA and foam pad. I suspect it'll be real thin paint etc....any suggestions ?
