Hi Mike can I apply Klasse high gloss over an already waxed vehicle? I have approximately 6 or 7 coats of Zaino wax on it and I would like to try the Klasse product to give it that extra finishing wet look.

Thanks
Mike Nantel

As I understand KAIO, "no". I use KAIO as a LSP, after all polishing is done, before the wax. I think KAIO will remove the sealant and/or wax you spent all that time putting on.

Generally a sealant, like Klasse HGSG, would be applied prior to a wax. You definitely can do it though, post some pics and thoughts on the results!

Based on that statement I would suggest trying Pinnacle Souveran though.

As I understand KAIO...

I think he's referring to High Gloss Sealant Glaze, not the AIO.

Okay- again my understanding, sealants don't adhere well to carnuba waxes.

Ditto that "SATracker"..it is made to adhere to the "paint" and putting it over a wax is working "backwards" in my opinion.

Slow down guys, yeah, it's generally tough to apply a sealant over a wax, but the OP says he's using Zaino "wax"...which is a sealant.

That being said, I've also got to say that if you don't look "wet" enough with 7 layers of Zaino 1) Klasse SG isn't going to improve it any, and 2)likely you need to do a/improve your polishing step, because most of the look is going to come from that.

If you don't like the "look" of Zaino, then I would agree with the suggestion of topping with Souveran--the Zaino should give you plenty of protection so you can put a less-durable high-appearance wax like that on top.

PS Most Zaino users don't top with a wax--Z8 is popular to give it a bit more "pop". But Mike Phillips has used just about every product there is, so I'm sure he'll be along with some words of wisdom.

Thanks for all your thoughts on my question I guess I should be happy with the look I have now with Zaino but I guess I am trying to just get a little extra shine for bragging right. My thought was to try and seal the Zaino so that I don`t have to do as often

Zaino is a paint sealant (Z2, Z5) so you could, but different makeup as Klasse SG (silver bottle) is acrylic based. If you use Klasse AIO (red bottle) it will remove the Zaino and prep surface for any wax or sealant.

Zaino lasts a long time..how often are you applying it? As I said, if you want to get the "pop" back, try some Z-8, it's pretty fast and easy, or you can try some Duragloss AquaWax which is similar but perhaps less concentrated. If you don't have enough shine, maybe you need to polish or look at your wash regimen.

I am applying a cote just about every month or so and I did zaino cs on top and it does look great don`t get me wrong, I was asking so that I could get it to the next level if there is such a thing in order to have the ultimate shine

Sounds like you need a polish, and I'm not talking about Z2 or Z5. Something like ZAIO or ZPC or one of the great finishing polishes they sell here. Do you have a machine?

AND...have you used it on the car?? Perhaps your expectation are too high for silver.

I personally dont find Zaino CS as glossy as the other WOWA sealants (Optimum and Ultima). I do however suggest anyone using Z2Pro or Z5Pro (which are glossy) to use Z6 between each layer and Z8 as an end result.

Agreed, I was disappointed with the CS and will save it for the wife's truck on top of ZAIO

For my black car, 6-8 coats is just where Z2Pro and Z5Pro just start to look deep.
3 coats a day for 4-5 days and it will glow.
Z6 between coats and Z8 on top.
I have used waxes to top coat but found very little difference in most cases.
I am going through the car this weekend for Detailfest and I hope to apply 21 or so coats of varied layers of Z2 and Z5 and have some Wolfgang Fusion that I will try on an inconspicuous spot on the roof, pull it into the sun, look at it with my halogens and decide whether or not to topcoat the entire car.
I also have a silver van that I really like the effects of Menzerna FMJ on top of KAIO. The FMJ really makes silver (at least on my Sprinter) pop.
