Hello,

After speanding $150+ on Autogeek products I had the pleasure of detailing my new vehicle. :righton:

In the last month I have pre-washed, clayed, applied 1 coat Klasse AIO then over a week 3 light coats of Klasse SG on my Black Merc E500. 2 Weeks later 1 coat Klasse AIO followed by 1 coat of Klasse SG.

Although I have used extreme care when washing there are fine scratches in the sealant.

My questions are:

What should I use to remove the scratches before re-applying another fine coat of SG?

When using the product do I have to reprep the car before applying another coat of SG if so, with what?

Do I spot treat the scratches, which are evident on the rear trunk to roof frame behind the rear doors, trunk and hood or should I do the whole vehicle?

Any other suggestions?

I look forward to your responses.

thats good.......

why another AIO???

DID YOU USE A PC/AND SWIRL REMOVER?? DID YOU POLISH BEFORE THE AIO??

My questions are:

What should I use to remove the scratches before re-applying another fine coat of SG?

YOU HAVE TO PREPARE THE SURFACE.....

When using the product do I have to reprep the car before applying another coat of SG if so, with what?

YOU MUST REMOVE THE SWIRLS , THESE PRODUCTS ARE NOT MIRACLE PRODUCTS, PREPARATION IS KEY.......

Do I spot treat the scratches, which are evident on the rear trunk to roof frame behind the rear doors, trunk and hood or should I do the whole vehicle?

WHOLE VEHICLE........

Any other suggestions?

START OVER........ PREPARE THE CAR.......... SWIRL REMOVE

POLISH

AIO

SEAL......../WAX......

I look forward to your responses.

PREPARE

Bill,

Why would it be necessary to reperform the process on the entire car? Is there an added benefit to it?

Bill,

Thanks for your response. I do not yet have a PC. I am currently using a WAXCOA industrial strength R/O buffer.

I am aware I have to prepare the surface before applying anther coat of SG but I did not want to strip the car down if the previous applications of Klasse are OK. These fine scratches are from washing and drying....yes I use 2 MF mitts, careful to rinse it out after each section or panel and MF waffle drying towels as well as Cobra Green and yellow MF towels.

My next concern was which product is best used as a light scratch remover/polisher with Klasse SG. I guess my question was based on the chemistry of the sealer and then using the swirl remover ? Does a normal wash prep the surface and ready it for the next coat of SG or must I do more?

What brand swirl remover and polish is recommended with the use of Klasse products for proper bonding or does it really matter?

Once I break down and get the PC kit (probably sometime in the Fall) then I will again attempt to "full detail" the car as you recommended.

Somewhat off this post...what will be the best way of stripping the sealant before using the swirl remover or does this step pretty much remove everything already applied and ready the clear coat for the polish and 1st coat of AIO?

Thank you.

I would do the entire car, because there are usually more scratches than you think or can be seen depending on lighting conditions, so doing the entire car wil ensure a full removal of any defects

if your not worried about the fine scratches etc at the moment, leave every thing as is till you get the right tools and products to start over..

Poor Boys has a good line of products and swirl removers....as well as others, ive used Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover with good success.
OTHER HAVE USED WHAT THEY THINK IS BEST FOR THEM.....:)

Personally i wouldn't put anymore coats of anything on the car till I'm ready to start over....you have protection on it already...

doesn't matter.

very good.....

The swirl removers and finish polishers will remove everything...

Thank you.

PREPARATION IS KEY...........

Do it correctly the first time, or you are likely to have to do it again. Any polish or paint cleaner used will likely remove any SG anyways.
