i've seen people use korrosol to decontaminate the paint like iron x. is this something i can use and then just do a spray wax like ultimate quikwax? or to use a product like that i would need to clay and use a buffer to wax?

i've tried this method and it turn out good ^^

- Iron x the entire car before rinsing
- Foam
- Pressure rinse
- Foam and proceed to wash
- Drying aid or spray wax

No clay bar needed or agitation
i call this maintenance decon

so it does not strip any wax?

so it does not strip any wax?

i'm not sure how much wax it will strip
i always use a drying aid after weekly wash.

To me any chemical will likely to degrade the LSP a little including car soap when agitate with a wash media.

Yes it does, partially, strip Waxes.

IMO:
No need to Clay and Buff at this point
in time; Ultimate Quik Wax will suffice
until your next, in toto, detailing session
is scheduled.

First I would determind what contaminants you are trying to remove. If you have iron particals on the paint which looks like small rust dots. Or you have brake dust imbedded then a iron remover like Korrosol or carpro ironx would help you with them. Do you have tar or tree sap or rubber dots a tar remover would get them of. Some other contaminants and dirt would a alkaline based degreaser take care of. Then if the baggie test fails after that a claying and or a polishing would be needed.

If you remove iron particals and even if it's not takes away your protection. I would reapply the LSP since the iron particals was sitting in the clearcoat and when taken away leaves just those spots unprotected.
