Lake Country pad failure

Update: I received my free replacement pad from Lake Country last night. As an added bonus, they put an extra pad in the box for me. They definitely have a customer for life now. I never contacted them, they simply saw my post here and reached out to me.

Now that I know the limits of pads, I'll use them more appropriately going forward.

ugh, I'm so jealous!

I've been trying to contact LC customer service and have emailed David Patterson directly several times over the past few weeks because I'm trying and find a distributor that is still selling the 4" white waffle pro compounding pads so I can buy a bunch and I still haven't heard anything. Maybe they thought it was so bizarre and outlandish that in 2018 someone was actually trying to purchase waffle face pads that they figured I had to be kidding. lol

customer service is as important as the product, glad to see they took care of you!

Scott Voelz from Lake Country contacted me by private mail and offered to send me replacement pads for my pads that failled early.

Very nice gesture, I received them yesterday. Main difference I can see with the new design are:
- Pads look a bit smaller. Hard to tell since I threw the defective ones away but the new ones seems more compact
- The color is different. Old ones were light blue, and these are much darker.
- The foam seems to be closed cell as opposed to open cell on the old ones. I might be mistaken but I believe the old ones had very big pores compared to the newer design.

Really eager to try them out. I usually don't use cutting pads that often, Orange pads being my go to on most jobs, but I hope some job will come that will require heavier compounding so I can try these ;)

I also have not tried my new thin pro heavy cutting pads (the gray ones)... so it will be interesting to compare them with the other serie. The thin pro act much smaller, so I expect them to cut like crazy. Probably just as good as microfiber cutting pads if I am lucky ;)

I had 1 yellow LC flat pad delaminate on me. The only one ever. I'm usually careful about pad temp., how much product, and frequently changing out pads.

I will say that I do spin them on polisher to help dry. I don't THINK that had anything to do with it. The look on my face was probably priceless as it was dark and the pad launches off the polisher over the fence into the neighbor's yard. WTH ? LOL.

Called LC and spoke with Sheila and she's sending a replacement pad. Good job LC. She's retiring today after 30+ years.
