Glad to hear you got a job. I also lost mine to Mexico. That is what has been going on for few yrs with NAFTA. I also took retirement after opening a manufacturing facility in mexico. Had to travel there for 2 yrs. 17 trips to be exact.
When you get to Mexico (Monterrey) you would think you were back at home. just about every company is down there including Hershey chocolate.
Well anyway good luck Bro and for those that are still looking just don't give up.

I have landed a job after being laid off for more than a year. At 53 years old it sure has been a tough road looking for a job.

Any of you that are out of work please don't give up. If an old man like me can find a job. It proves that persistence pays off.

Congratulations and Good Luck with your new job!!! That's proof that not every company in the US disrespects the workplace knowledge, experience, and wisdom that comes with "aging".......May you "age" gracefully.

With Mexico's minimum wage currently set at around $4.25 (USD) per day, no wonder!

But to think, Many of these companies are building/have built plants in other parts of the world, getting ready to 'shift' some more jobs, because Mexico's workers earn too much(WTF)...Just wish they'd rebuild a few here too....

Congratulations and the best of luck on your new job. I work in a position that trains new employees on driving passenger buses and nowadays there are no age limits for new workers. We get folks in their sixties who have retired from previous jobs or who have been laid off, so please don't feel bad about age. Shoot, in this new era we live in, being in your fifties isn't old at all, you're just getting started.
