Hope this is in the right place.

For those of you that have a brick and mortar shop, do you use a laptop or a desktop for your buisness?

My dh and I are now mobile, but have had a great opportunity present itself to us and are considering brick and mortar.

He thinks we should use a desktop and I'm thinking laptop.

I don't have a fixed location but if I did I would still go with a laptop so I could work from home/other location if the occasion arose.

No right (or wrong) answer... A laptop will obviously provide more mobility, but you will pay more for less performance.

I would consider how much mobility I needed, if it was only work and home, you could probably purchase 2 decent desktops for the cost of 1 comparable laptop.

I picked up a HP laptop at frys.com for $450 + $8 shippping.
It was FACTORY refurbished with a 90 day warranty.
And to top it off it was better than the HP laptop I paid $550 for the year before.

Not sure what kind of performance you are looking for...But lookup Intronix Laptop on eBay. I purchased the IX250 model I think it is and love it. Military grade, touchscreen, you can drop it, accidentally spill a entire 44Oz. Pepsi on it:D , and tons of other torturious things I have put mine through and it hasn't skipped a beat. Glowing keyboard is nice too IMO. Just a thought.

That looks good for someone like me who drops everything all the time :D
Some thing like the Panasonic Tough Book.

I had to get a laptop for my daughter in Grad school and one for my wife to go with a digital camera so I needed a little more HP
