Layering?

So this is my world as well

Other than a dealer installed coating on my Tacoma that I think is failing (my wife’s doing) I have zero experience with coatings and my perspective is waxes and sealants as well

So that’s a whole different aspect of this discussion

I feel the same about synergy. Had great success with mixing products.

Usually the person mentioning synergy with a product is usually trying to sell more product.

My experience was different. Nothing I threw on top of my Cquk3 changed the water beading or self Cleaning.

If anything it makes me wonder if toppers bond at all with a ceramic coating or if it sheds it. Still gonna top...

This will sound crazy but I wonder if a GOOD paint thickness gauge could pick up the thickness of anything layered on top of clear coat IF that layer was thick enough to be within the gauges ability? The crazy part would be taking a panel, testing a specific spot, and then start putting on anything and everything and see if it could make a measurable accumulation. I think it's kind of agreed on that OLD style waxes won't build up but if you just kept applying sealants and toppers and stuffs for long enough...

A coating adds 1 or 2 microns per layer. But with such a small difference, and being almost impossible to always measure on the same exact spot (and it will vary by moving it just a fraction of an inch over), it will be hard to quantify how long that thickness added will last.

So with this calculation, Rog aka Klasse has 6” worth of LSP on his car!!!
