All, so i was checking the internet for hot car care details (because i have a slight ocd with car care) and i came across this backing plate.

Lake Country DA Flexible Backing Plate, 3.5-inch:Amazon:Automotive

If the link is broken i apologize. The product is called "Lake Country DA Flexible Backing Plate, 3.5-inch"

The features of the product specifically states that it works with the PC 7424xp

Since i have the PC 7424xp i thought of the buying plate and then buying those Meguiars DA power pads that i see in stores now. Search for "Meguiar's G3508 DA PowerPads Polishing Pad" which by the way are 4inch pads i believe.

I realize that the BP was meant for LC pads but my logic says that it shouldnt make that much difference. Also, i am very eager to try this combo out.

Your thoughts?

The LC 3" BP works with the Megs 4" pads

is the 3inch bp for pc 7424xp or does it matter??

NP
But one thing to note, the 3" BP doesn't seem to dissipate heat as well as the bigger ones and since the 4" pads will cut faster, you would want to check your work more often. So far, my experience with this combo is that I think its more prone to DA haze when you start getting aggressive.

The 3.5" backing plate will not work with the Meguiars 4" pads. The 3.5" backing plate will stick out past the velcro on the back of the Meguiars pad, and cut into the back of the pad. You need a 3" backing plate (actually 2 7/8ths is the actual measurement of the LC 3" BP) with the Meguiars 4" pads. The 3.5" will work with Lake Country and Buff and Shine 4" pads.
