LC purple foamed wool pad?

If I used this with a Flex 3401, how does the cutting ability compare to a LC orange and yellow pad?

Doesn't work as well as wool does but it does leave less holograms behind and trails than natural wool does and is easier to care for as well :dblthumb2: It will tackle anything you throw at it as well

more cut than orange, sheds a bit of lint so wash it 2 times before using it. It also seems that you either have to clean the pad more frequently or switch to a new one. eg-I can do a whole car with 3 foam pads but probably 5-6 PFW pads.

Not true, I barely get any holograms if any using a natural wool pad.

What the heck I asked this question a few days ago and I didn't get near the responses? http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...w-foam-cutting-vs-6-5-purple-foamed-wool.html

Because no one likes you-lol.:dblthumb2: Honestly it depends on the tool, if you are using a rotary you should use a wool pad if you need anything stronger than an orange pad. Now if it is a da I would just stick with a foam pad.

Not nice! :props: I have had to use an yellow pad many times, what is up with that? J/K!

I have use both Purple Wool and the Yellow Cutting Pad. The Purple Wool cuts more and stronger then the Yellow Cutting Pad. but to use the 6.5" PFW and the 6.5" Yellow Cutting Pad you need to change the backing plate. Otherwise buy a smaller PFW so you can use 1 backing plate for both.

The Purple Wool Pad is my main buffing pad that I use. I use Megs 105 AND 205 with the Purple Pad without any problems. Of course, I use different pads using 105 & 205.

The Purple Wool is too awsome and very safe to use, as long as you know how to use it correctly of course. :props:

 Please elaborate. Why do you need to change the BP? I change pads(and PFW) back and fourth on my flex with only the one BP. Even on a PC, If all you had was one BP your fine. You can go from a 6.5 LC foam to a 6.5 PFW on a 6 inch bp. Likewise with a 3.5 or 5 inch BP with 5.5 or 4 inch pads.

This is with a DA right? About how many pads per vehicle do you use before the get caked up? BTW, I have the Meg twins and they are awesome!

I have the pad wash bucket, so, I do not need to change out the pads. I also use my Flex for the exterior detailing.

Thanks, but no wash bucket for me yet too expensive. One did I will break! I do however have a brush and use the clean the pad on the fly method with a terry cloth.
