Does anyone else dry with an electric leaf blower. Any bad sides to it that people have seen?

I do!!! It works fine, the air stream is just not as precise as say a metro!!

I use an electric leaf blower. Started with the motorcycle and tried it on the car and it worked great. Use the flooding method for your final rinse and then there is little to blow/dry.

I've been using a blower for years, it works great. the one thing I have to watch for is, being careful not to let any minerals in the water dry on the paint. It can happen if you chase a drop if water across the body panel to dry it, when it's dry, you might have a mineral deposit.
It's great to get ALL the water out of the cracks.
good luck

For about $50 it's one of the most cost effective drying methods available today....:props:

I've used a leaf blower to dry the car but I prefer just using my sidekick blower and getting the water out of the little cracks and seems and dry with big mf towel

Don't know what I'd do without my electric blower. Very good investment!

Thinking out loud:

If it has a bag attachment then you can also rig a filter on it to block any debris from being rocketed at your finish.

The greatest "leaf blower" scene of all time!

I use my cordless around windows, mirrors, and wheels after using hose to run water off car.

I got one for $30 Homelite blower at Home Depot. It has 2 speeds (120mph and 150mph). It is small and very light. The lower speed is pretty useless but the 150mph speed can take care of most water on a waxed/coated car.

It is similar to the $25 Wal Mart one although I don't know if the Wal-Mart one has two speeds or not.

For $25 I'd give it a try for sure! :props:

It seriously works awesome! It is super light. It isn't like the fastest air speed about 150mph but I just quickly tried it on an unwaxed car and it blew out all the crevasses and it blew the hood well. I'm pretty impressed for $25

Hey Nate!

I've had my Troy-Bilt electric leaf blower for several years now and bought it specifically for detailing. While I did pay $50.00 for it, I didn't think it was outlandish and it works so very well.

This is the very reason I agonized over buying the Metro Master Blaster.

The regular price for the Master Blaster is $395.00. Add shipping and handling to this, if there's no free shipping, and you'll tip the price upwards of $425.00

Last Christmas the Master Blaster was on sale and some additional savings were realized as well as free shipping so I ended up paying about $281 for it. Considering it was a gift I could justify it and after all it was for me! :props:

Since it was a Christmas present I haven't had the opportunity to give it a good workout and post a review...but I will....:props:

Both the electric leaf blower and the Master Blaster work their best when the finish is protected with a sealant or wax. If the finish is dull and lifeless air dryers do not perform very well and in this case I reach for my Guzzler drying towels.

I just cant justify paying $300 for a blower. I care about my customers and my own cars but I could spend that $300 on better prodcut and what not

I hear ya Nate and if it wasn't for part present and some mad money thrown in it wouldn't be in the line up, that's how well my leaf blower works...
