Dan, are those scratches deep. Can you feel them with your nails? They look pretty deep to me.

Geez, I have no idea. Can't remember.

Having a Vette myself, I can vouch for the hardness of the clearcoat. Superficial swirls can be removed with Menzerna and a LC Orange pad, but slightly under the surface-scratch, are almost impossible to remove with a PC

Man those are bad swirls, I would love the opportunity to do a Vett but I got no friends with a Vett...mmmm...well maybe one day.

Dan rotary is easy bro, just takes a little getting used to it and lots of attention to it. I would agree that a rotary would definetly come in handy for you. A big hand to you though for admiting your limitation, most people try to live the term "fake it till you make it" and on detailing you don't really want to "fake it" becuase the results could be extremely bad. So for that my friend you deserve lots of respect!

Boy, your getting great help too. I jump all over the opporutunity on having another member with 20 years detailing show me some tricks of the trade.

Well don't feel bad bro it's called live and learn, the more challenges you have the better detailer you will be.

Thank you for sharing.

Have VPL drive her vett up there, I believe she will let you do it....:)

Yea, that would be wicked a sparkie :righton: heck maybe on holidays I'll swing by her place and detail her vett :D

You wanna know what really sucks... My "97 GMC Jimmy has that same clear coat on it!! I did a 7 step paint correction on mine, by RL standards and I still had scratches in it. I was pissed. I too need to take up rotary lessons. Im saving up for a metabo, and i have friends that own a body shop and can get a hood when im ready

ASPHALT ROCKET is the MAN! Cant say enough about how much he helped me tonight. Thanks again!
