What are you all doing to clean and protect leather dashboards? What about lighter colored stitching? Does the cleaner and conditioner darken it(the stitching)?

After vacuuming/dusting....I use a damp microfiber towel to gently wipe the dash. Use of an APC is discretionary. After the dash is thoroughly dry...I follow up with 303 Aerospace Protectant:

303 Aerospace Cleaner,303 Aerospace Protectant, 303 products

I've never had 303 AP darken any stitching yet.

Even though you didn't state the "type" of leather....The above method remains 'my-best-process'.

Yet, when in doubt, I won't hesitate to email those who have more expertise in use of leather cleaners/protectants, on different "leather" surfaces, for their sage advice, too. (Dr. Beasley, Leather Doctor, LTT, Optimum, etc.)

Others' methods may differ.

It is for a Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit edition.
I am thinking something specifically for leather might be better? Even with some type of UV protection. My concern is that I have read where the adhesive on the back side of the leather "let's go" creating bubbles.

-Doesn't the Summit Edition have a lot of Nappa leather upgrades....such as the seating areas and the dash?
Nappa leather can be coated/uncoated?....using the water absorbancy test is a good way to find out.

-I still use the cleaning/protecting method (in my original post in this thread), even on my vehicles with perforated leather seating areas (Nappa leather).
-I never, ever "soak" the dash, regardless of its make-up, for the same reason you fear...de-lamination/bubbling-up.

-IMO....303 AP can be used on leather....as well as other water-based products

-Out of curiosity....What does your vehicle's service/maintenance booklet say to use on the leather (Nappa?) areas?

Hopefully the Leather Experts will chime in here also....This Jeep version is what the wife wants next....I'll need to inform her of what/how she needs to keep it immaculate....if my method is not the most suitable, that is.

Thanks for the link. I emailed it to the wife at work...I said with winter approaching, she might consider a little overtime...it could net her an excellent vehicle next spring.

Mopar branded cleaner:
{"Mopar Total Clean" came with the wife's '08 Liberty}

Doesn't the picture on the Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer container look a lot like a Chrysler vehicle's dash? Maybe a PT Cruiser's?

Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer is a pump spray detailer for all car interior rubber, plastic and vinyl surfaces.

Also...I believe that AutoInternational at one time, or possibly still, formulated some vehicle care products for Chrysler, including interior products.

All are water-based.


BTW:
When will the 8-speed tranny become available for JEEPS?
