What are some recommendations for leather cleaner and conditioner for a 2008 corvette? The leather seems to have a wax finish.
leaning towards leatherique or Connolly but am open to suggestions. I would also like to order during the current save $$$.

Thanks

I have used them all, unfortunately the Vettes leather is coated. I find Einszett or Pinnacle works well (likely just a sunscreen and smell) and Leatherique annually.

Dont use Connolly on protected leather. If you want to stick with AG products than go with 1z. Otherwise I recommend Leather Masters.

I agree. Connolly need to upgrade to scentless solvents. After all, it's 21 century, and they are sill using 19th century technology.
Otherwise, it's not that bad at all.
But I agree on Leather Masters, that product rocks!

Hi guys,
I got Connolly Cleaner and Conditioner and I am about to use it on my mercedes SLK so is it safe to use it on mercedes leather and how can I know if my leather is coated or not?

Thanks

You shouldnt use Connolly on any coated leather. If the leather doesnt change color as you wipe it with your hand, and if you put a drop of water on it and it does NOT absorb or darken the leather, than it it coated. Most leathers are coated nowadays.

But before I bought the Connolly Hide I have heard from people who use it that they are very satisfied and made it one of the best leather care. So what should I do now? through it away and not use it?

I would try to return it or sell it.

i think that is what you meant to say

I have used Connollys on coated leather without any issue or damage. Seems like a waste of $$ though, and there was something about being careful not to get the stuff of the binding of leather specifically.

killr what is your dilution ratio when you used the connolly?

Connolly products were designed for uncoated leather, hence why it contains lanolin which is not good for coated leathers. Research it and you'll see.

So you guys say I should not even try it on hide small place to check the result? is it surely damage the coat? now I got stuck with these two products and have nothing to do with them.

303 Protectant is likely the best choice .... most other products are likely adding a little sunscreen at best and maybe making the appearance more clean/matte. I use the Einszett with no harm for more than a year.

As for Connollys I was responding to the poster asking about the product. I found no harm personally in using it but agree that the lanolin base likely did nothing to permeate the leather. It did in no way damage anything ! Infact, it was likely removed when I final buffed the leather. (I buff all entire once done to avoid anything on clothes). I am not suggesting it should be used on a normal basis for coated leather however.

So for how long does the Connolly Cleaner should be applied before buffed away? and should I gentle rub it with a MF towel or can I use the Horse hair brush for leather?

Thanks

As noted above this product is not suggested for coated leather. Its best to move to a product that might help (Einszett) or a Protectant (303).

I used it in a pinch because I had uncoated leather in another car and also in the home and wanted something quick. The second buffing was likely to have removed any product left above the surface and I was using a MF towel. I am not suggesting this however just stating I did so without issue in the past without prolonged or drastic results.

I just ordered Einszett (among other things) for my car. @#%@ Sale pricing!!!
