My buddy just got a new truck with leather in it and he wanted me to get him something to maintain it, what would be the best to keep the leather new? Thanks.

Any of the good conditioners and cleaners for leather. Too many good choices, can't go wrong, if he wants more of an one step, Optimum Protectant Plus is nice. Otherwise plenty of 2 step choices.

I've had great luck with both WG leather cleaner and conditioner as a two step process. The conditioner in particular works really well. Penetrates deep and leaves the leather supple without being oily. Smells like fresh leather too which rocks!

Connolly and Leatherique are favorites. Surf City, Pinnacle, Lexol, and Poorboys wont break the bank.

Got a bunch of 4* if he wants it.

Meguiar's detailing line leather cleaner/conditioner and their Gold Class leather spray are my favorite maintenance products for leather. They are cheap, don't leave the leather feeling sticky or slippery, and don't give it a fake shine either; it just leaves the leather looking and feeling like leather. My favorite part about it though is the way they smell and how QUICK they are to use. All you need to do is put some on a microfiber/cotton terry applicator and just apply it, and it will come out perfectly without needing to buff it, while the applicator picks up the dirt.

I just recently fell in love with it after using Lexol on my leather. While I love Lexol and other two step leather cleaner/conditioners, they just take too long to do as a maintenance product. Two minutes with the detailing line leather cleaner, and I have no complaints :)

Conditioning – leather doesn’t require conditioning per se, it just requires moisture replacement (hydration) the best way to do this is with a water-based leather care product.
Protection is an essential element in leather care; inhibiting abrasive dirt / grit, brought in from the outside via the A/C system and prevents stains from being absorbed. It’s primary purpose is to act as a barrier between the leather surface and any soils that may settle on it, making maintenance cleaning easier, and also providing protection from ultra violet radiation (UVR) especially a Roadster’s upholstery.

Connolly Hide Care is my first choice.

In order to use leather care products correctly and to obtain the maximum cleaning and protection results it is essential to be able to recognize the various types of pigmented leather and any protective finish applied

Connolly Leather:
Connolly Hide Care is a traditional lanolin based leather care product that was recommended by Aston Martin, Bentley, Cadillac, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lotus and Rolls Royce and high-end German automobiles when these vehicles were upholstered with oil-based pigmented leather. The leather used in current vehicles are water-based pigmented hides. Connolly Leather Limited ceased trading in 2002, but their leather renovation products (Hides, dyes and etc) can still be obtained from Leather Care Renovations, UK -

I like Four Star. It is water based and the only oils are for the scent. It is good for top coated leather. It has a nice leather smell without leaving any slippery feeling.

Has anybody tried 1Zs leather dressing, I used it a long time ago before AG carried it, so I'm not sure if the stuff AG carries is any different?

does it darken the leather.????

does it darken the leather.????

I have noticed any darkening. I have a light color leather (Light Stone per Ford) on my personal vehicle. I even applied it to the vinyl sides, etc.

what are some good leather cleaners and conditioners for black unfinished leather?

Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Spray. It's a 2-in-1 product, which is nice. If you want two steps and more money, Lexol is excellent. Lexol sells their cleaner and conditioner in spray bottles so no more buckets of water to clean the leather !!

Ive been leaning toward Leatherique recently. Two step process with Rejuvenation Oil then Prestine Clean. I've used Gold Class to which i like as well, but i always spray way too much haha
