LED headlamp. like, worn on your head. what are you using?

I use a Coast HL5 LED Lamp from Home Depot; Ran me $13 on sale.
175 Lumens.

i'm bumping this because the Black Diamond Spot i picked up last year has been so handy for many different things. i just washed my car outside at midnight using this thing. the light it puts out is pretty crazy when filled with great batteries.

pay attention to the battery indicator light...and don't expect the included Energizer alkalines to last very long. once they start to wear, the spot will show a drastic performance reductions. if you are picking it up from Amazon, try to find a solid deal on Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAAs. i use those and the AAs in everything. they are light and last forever, providing great power along the way. in this lamp, they are the ticket. full power for a LONG time.

most rechargeables nowadays are nimh and they lose power whilst stored. the lithiums do not. so, while they aren't rechargeable, the life you'll get with them is well worth it.

I just looked that Black Diamond Spot up on Amazon, it says it's man-made, which is good--but I was secretly hoping for an alien-made one that has a Kryptonite power source or something so you never have to change the batteries.

I guess I didn't follow this thread because I had bought a Streamlight the year before, but that Black Diamond does look cool--never thought about using it to wash my car at midnight though.

never thought about using it to wash my car at midnight though.

things have been getting tight between work, prepping the house for the baby, caring for the lawn, gym, activities....blahh! so night is best. i was going to set up my homemade LED flood rig but figured i'd just try the headlamp, since i use it often when the sun goes down to do wheels (i wash my wife's car on the wknds and always end up almost in the dark).

Just ordered the black diamond spot, looks like it will be a handy light for all my detailing needs!
