leftover clay lube products.....uses?

I don't clay that often and when I do, it is usually kinda impromptu, which is when I just run to the autoparts/paint supply and get one of the boxed kits (they don't sell just clay)so I have a couple of bottles of clay lube (t-wax/claymagic) collecting dust, and was wondering if there are any other uses for them--maybe as a dry wash/detailer or something.

they are QD's but if they are questionable wrt age etc, I'd check them by pouring out into a clear bottle (check consistency, presence of floaters etc i dunno)

to be extra cautious add maybe .5 oz of a rinseless wash, maybe even some UWW+, then use them as quick detailer or leave them in the trunk to handle bird bombs etc...

I could be very wrong but most OTC clay kits include a QD as the lube so yes use ity as a QD. Personally I use ONR as a lube and am switching up soon as my QD as well, trying to pair down the extensive collection of QD's at home(@10 of them)

I used mine as wetsanding lubrication. Seems to have a bit more lubricity than water and worked just as well if not better.

I also have a bunch of left over bottles of QD that I don't really use any more. I don't know what I'm going to do with them lol But keeping them in the trunk for bird bombs is a good idea. I have a bottle of Ultima Waterless Wash I keep in my back seat along with a couple of MF's to take care of that.

yup. my meg's clay came with maroon QD as the lube, a MF, and even a small bottle of UQW.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who think like this!!

Last summer my wife and I were heading for a car meet one Sunday. We were stopped at a light when all of a sudden; splat, splat, splat, splat, splat, splat, splat.........some bird did a strafing run on my Z06!! :bat: The SOB got part of the hood, up the windshield, and my roof!!

Fortunately we were only minutes away and the Ultima Waterless Wash & a Microfiber towel did what it does best.....keeping it clean!! rops:

Very useful as QDs. Be Careful, though!!

I once misused some Griot's Garage Speed Shine, an excellent clay lube, BTW!
{And if you're familiar-with/ever-used GG Speed Shine, you can see how mistakes could happen}
