Does a polish like PO85RD fill the same function as Pinnacle Paintwork Cleaning Lotion (with the obvious difference of having very mild abrasive properties)? That is, if you use the PO, does that make the Pinnacle unneccesary?
It depends on how technical you want to get regarding the outcome of the paint after using either product. Technically speaking, an abrasive polish will remove previously applied waxes and sealants, providing a clean slate for your new coat of wax or sealant. However, a chemical paint cleaner, such as Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion, will do a better job "cleaning" the paint. When I say cleaning, I'm referring to the chemical cleaners that will remove below surface contaminants.
Is it necessary to use both? No. But keep in mind cars only have so much paint so unless you need to use something abrasive, stick with the least aggressive approach, which in this case would be Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. :dblthumb2:
