I was tasked with cleaning a molded vehicle and the cleaning method naturally used two buckets even for the interior. One bucket was for dunking the sponge to wash off the crud. The other bucket was to get cleaner water.
It might just come down to what's your personal tolerance for how clean the sponge has to be once it hits the paint again. The two bucket is good because its a toss between hauling around 3-4 buckets vs 2 that would get the job done satifactory.
