Lets talk about Iron Removers

I reached out to Griot's Garage about Iron & Fallout Remover.Their reply wasn't what I expected.
"If you are going to use our Ion & Fallout Remover – there is no need to Fine Surface Prep Mitt, they both do the same thing….removing the contaminates off the vehicle".
Since when the clay (mechanical decontamination) does the same thing as Ion & Fallout Remover (chemical decontamination)? I'm puzzled!

I see why you're confused. Iron remover does just that, removes iron, not ALL surface contaminants. I'm not sure they're response was correct.

Negative. That's not what folks at Griot's Garage are saying. They said, if I choose to use their Fine Surface Prep Mitt, there's no need for Iron & Fallout Remover. I don't see how these are redundant products. Both have different purposes. Fine Surface Prep Mitt (e.g. mechanical decontamination) will not remove iron with it's mechanical decontamination. In contrast, stinky Iron & Fallout Remover (e.g. chemical decontamination) will not remove contaminants that are BONDED to the surface. Words from Mike Philips :xyxthumbs:

Meguiar’s D180101 Wheel & Paint Iron Decon

$79.99 regular price per gallon

Catch it on sale

Works as good or better than all others I've tried. You can buy a bottle of the Meguiars Ultimate wheel cleaner (same stuff) for a nice foaming spray bottle if you don't have one already.
