That ticket can be easily challenged. All you have to do is show up in court with proof that you own the vehicle, it is registered in a state that allows that level of tint, and the law that covers that.

I wasn't talking about a ticket for the tint.
No...it's the act of getting pulled over for speeding...
Then the subsequent delay for when the OSP searches for illicit drugs.

Once again:
Too Dark of Tint = Suspicious Drug Activities...
when driving in Ohio.

Tint does not give PC (probable cause) for anything other than tint. They need something else that's referred to as "incident to the stop" - smell of marijuana, seeing a bag with a leafy sustance in plain view, etc. Or, something found "incident to arrest" - i.e. the LEO had a reason to arrest you, searched you for his safety, and found narcotics.

I was law enforcement before I joined the Army.

Have you been in law enforcement in Ohio since 2013?
Since an Ohio congressman was cited for "alleged acts of incident to arrest/probable cause"? Since Ohio's sections of I-70 and I-75 have been "drug alley"?


Wait a minute...To be honest:
I personally don't have any reasons, for the "forewarning" that I've been posting. Really: I don't.

Does anyone here had the SunTek CXP tint installed in their vehicle? I've been reading on it, and some people have mentioned that the film has a greenish appearance. I am just wanting to see if this is the case, because I want my windows to look black. Can anyone vouch for the heat reduction of this tint? I just want to be sure I choose the right tint the first time.
 
I will only use 3M film on my cars. In my opinion, there isnt a better film out there as far as color stability or UV protection.

I have 20% all the way around on my E550. Below are a couple of pictures.

I did a 30% Formula One Pinnacle (ceramic), one thing to remember is your stock windows may have some factory tint which will alter the VLT. Mine worked out roughly to 24.5% which is right at Wa. legal limit of 24%. Shot is from our trip to Disneyland and went out to Huntington Beach, my little one has her mug up against the window wondering what the heck Dad is doin:laughing:

Solar Guard 20% all the way around nothing on front windshield. My tint guy has been in the business for over 20 years and swears by SG. The 3M guy is always begging him to switch over but he sticks with SG. He's tinted everyone of my vehicles for the last 15 years with their tint. My 2003 Xterra is still going strong too.
 
Nice rides everyone, my car looks way too plain without tint. The only name brand tint the installers carry around here within 50 miles is SunTek or Llumar. So it's pretty much between those two. Either way I'm going with a ceramic, since the car will be outside a lot.

ImaginThat, does your tint have a silver or reflective appearance in the sun? Do you have any issues at night with light being reflected with the ceramic tint? Did you notice a big reduction in heat in the car on a hot day after the tint was installed?
 
No reflection or odd look on the outside in the sun, looks like a normal tint to me.

As for inside well I do see slight reflection from say the dash vent closest to the window during the bright daylight and it is only occasionally with everything at the right angle, but nothing I would consider distracting. At night I don't notice any dash lights while driving. None of these reflections are like a mirror seeing everything in the car, and from what I hear all tint does some reflecting to a certain extent. The night view out is very good, I was concerned about that since my eyes are a bit older than some of these guys runnin 20% and less needing to roll down windows at night to see a dark turn out in the country.

Heat was really what blew me away enough that I am considering running some of the 80% or 70% tint upfront as you could feel the heat from the windshield dash area while driving. The sides were great with only a very slight sense of warmth and really it was nothin, then again this was headin down I-5 in 109 degree Cali sun. It still gets a bit warmer than outside temps inside when parked but your legs don't sizzle when you sit in it and definately cools off faster. Then again after our month of summer up here in the Northwest ends the front may not really be needed or at least a priority.

Enough of my rambling, just do it you won't regret it.

Like speeding,my family card gets me out of them,but the trade off is a ticket for tint. I'll take that any day of the week! My rear windows are as dark as I could get,the front is lighter,but being all black interior it still looks dark. I also have a 2012 black Charger so most people think it's unmarked car,nice driving around everyone get out of your way!

I'm definitely going with the ceramic tint.:xyxthumbs: I just need to find a really good installer that uses quality tint. I want it done right.
 
18% sides and 70% front. Suntek CXP. $300 even.




Can't say I notice a green hue, tint, whatever with this film.

Nice Z, looks even better with the tint. Did you notice a reduction of heat buildup in the interior on hot days after the CXP tint? How is night time visibility?
