Just got done a marathon detail session. At least for me. 5:30am to 1:15pm. Used Zanio system this week but still have swirls and scratches all over car. Just not experienced enough to correct - I even have rupes polisher but too afraid to use it.

You just have to take a leap of faith with the polisher. You will learn a lot very quickly. I am very new to detailing and have only polished out a few cars, but I already know vastly more than I knew this time last year. Watch Mike's videos and give it a try. You'll do great.

^

Which Rupes do you have? 21, 15 ?

If it is the 21 than you can just leave the 6 inch backing plate and just use a polishing pad and a polish. Let the safety clutch help you out.

Clay the car then wax it at the end and you'll probably my see an enhancement in gloss.

Just be careful with edges, curves and knicking the paint.

Welcome aboard ! Lots of stuff to learn & it s a great place to share tips mate .

You ll get there earlier than you think .

Fear will always stop you. You have an awesome machine there. Start slow and it will be like riding a bike!

I've been working on family member's neglected cars until I muster up the courage to work on my ride. Learned a lot so far and family members are happy they're getting their rides polished and sealed for free!

If it can be of any help , go to a scrapyard & get yourself a practice fender or hood .
