Lexus LX470 – Budget Paint Correction

The owner of this Lexus was interested in bringing some life back to the black paint. He was thinking this would be a much cheaper option to getting it painted. The process was explained to him and the job was really planned around his budget. It needed a two step, probably three, but the budget would only fit for one polishing step. This is not easy but really wanted to help this guy out, and think that the results were beyond what he was expecting.

The entire vehicle was clayed. Correction was done with Meg Ultimate Compound using GG DA and 5.5in Orange LC pads and PCXP and 4in Orange LC pads.

This paint was really beat up, lots of very deep scratches, oxidation, rids, you name it. Probably knocked down the defects to about ~75% and really restored the clarity. One of the best turn arounds on a one step polishing that I have done. LSP was Meg 21 sealant. Interior was fully detailed, but no pictures as it wasn’t too bad. Pictures of outside only follow around the driver’s side as the whole vehicle was the same condition and it would have become redundant to continue to photograph the same thing.

Wow... turned out great for a 1 step paint correction.

Nice Job!

That looks great! Ultimate Compound is my go to for any correction I do. Since I don't do full corrections, this stuff works wonders and finishes off wonderfully.

Lexus paint is soft (as you know) and finicky to work with. You got it nice, made $$$$$$, and a happy customer!!

Great job! Ultimate compound saves the day again! It's indeed a great product.

Even a 3 step polishing to perfect the paint will be a lot cheaper than a proper repaint

It s no secret that I love UC. The car turned out great!

Great job Stephan! It would of cost a fortune to have repaint that suv. UC def brought back life into the paint. Keep up the good work! :props:

Ok so may I ask... What did you charge him and how long did it take you? I use to work at our Lexus dealership and I know how picky Lexus owners can be as well as they seem to want something for nothing... That rig looks awesome you did a great....ONE STEP!!!:buffing:

Good grief, someone mistook the door handle for a scratching post

Nice clean up, you really got a lot of correction and clarity out of that UC. If you hand't specified, I would have sworn that was done with SIP.

I am sure you made one super happy customer. Maybe next time you can talk him into a 2 or 3 step and a coating!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Someone definitely did some damage to the door handle area.

Jasper, you can send me a PM if you want more info about what I charged.
