Licence Plate Cleaner?

Why does this make me think someone is going to be looking for a bucket of prop wash?

To the question, if you didn't go with the cover that killr suggested and the plate is dirty, car wash like on the rest of the car usually works. If the plate is painted, you can usually treat it just like the paint on the car, as far as APC, tar remover, polish, etc. Just be careful a lot of the newer plates use some sort of vinyl applique (usually for reflectivity or to add a watermark) and you can damage that more easily, like if you're buffing your friend's license plate with your PC because you did your painted one the same way...don't ask me how I know...

If its bugs you're trying to get off try aerosol window cleaner, spray on, let dwell for a minute, then wipe off with warm soapy water

All License plate covers in Illinois are illegal now. I actually got a warning for it last year, but I still haven't taken it off. An ugly plate can make a car look tacky.
With that said I usually use a paint cleanser after washing them and they come out pretty well.

I know on VA plates you have to be carefully with the paint on the numbers/letters as it is SS paint and comes off when using polish on it. On the white reflective paint (that most plates are sprayed with) you can use polish or even compound to remove oxidation.

A clean plate is a must, but a nice plate holder gives it a nice touch. A plate without a holder is like a nice painting without a frame.

Yes! Thanks for the advice my fellow detailers! I have decided to order a nissan licence plate for the front and leave my back with my texas licence plate and with my JESUS frame around it :D

Thanks!:dblthumb2:
