My black metallic car has light scratches, and spider webbing from the usual washing/drying. Nothing major.

I have a Flex 3401, with the LC orange, white, blue, and red pads, along with the Wolfgang Concours Polishing kit. What I'm needed help with is what WG product to use before a good carnauba wax like Souveran or Zymol.

I've read that the Wolfgang finishing glaze 3.0 is basically the same thing as the Menzerna 106 FA. Would I need to do a IPA wipedown after using a product like this, and, or use a glaze before the carnauba?

With the Wolfgang pkg, I've used the swirl remover, finishing glaze and then DGPS 3.0 followed by the Fuzion with great results.. I just didn't know since I was using a carnauba product instead of a carnauba/polymer like fuzion, would this matter on how I should prepare the surface?

In the past I've use the "pink moose wax" followed by P21s 100%, or Souveran with eye popping results. So I know these combos work.. At least they did for me.

I just need some help with what Wolfgang combos/products (that I already have) to use before a carnuaba, that would be great help to me..

Thank you.

It's a good idea to use the least aggressive product to get the job done and that usually means you would to a Test Spot to one small section and see if something like the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze with a polishing pad will remove the defects to your satisfaction and if it does then you could use this over the rest of the car, if it doesn't then try a spot using the Total Swirl Remover and then inspect the results.

Correct. Similar products.

Would I need to do a IPA wipe-down after using a product like this, and, or use a glaze before the Carnauba?

Personal preference. I don't recall the manufacture of the either Souveran or Zymol or anyone for that matter include in their official recommended application directions stating that the paint must be chemically stripped before the application of their product.

The argument is that by chemically stripping the paint the protection ingredients will better be able to bond to the paint and thus last longer.

I don't chemically strip paint before applying any wax or paint sealant but you or anyone one else can if you feel so inclined.

With the Wolfgang pkg, I've used the swirl remover, finishing glaze and then DGPS 3.0 followed by the Füzion with great results.. I just didn't know since I was using a Carnauba product instead of a Carnauba/polymer like Füzion, would this matter on how I should prepare the surface?

If it were me and I was going to apply the Füzion over the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant I would apply the GDGPS after the last polishing step and then after removing the GDGPS I would wait for 24 hours if possible and then apply the Füzion. If you cannot wait 24 hours then wait about a 1/2 hour to an hour and then apply the Füzion.

The point being that anytime you're "Topping", you want to let the first product fully set-up before applying the second product so you reduce the potential for disturbing the protection ingredients left behind from the application of the first product.

See the last statement in my Sig Line...

See above...

Thanks for the help Mike.. :dblthumb2:

I'm not going to worry about chemically stripping the paint then. I'll just apply the carnauba over the Wolfgang finishing glaze. I just didn't know if a carnauba would work well over the Wolfgang products.. Not sure why I thought this, but it's better to ask than not know. lol

I know you say"Find something you like and use it often" but there are so many good products out there. You have to try them all.. Correct? If not, then why do I keep buying all of these darn products from Autogeek..

Would there be any need to use PO85RD after the PO 106 FA/Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0 before applying a wax, or sealant? Or is this over kill? I see the 106 FA/Wolfgang has more cut (2.5 vs 1) than the 85, but has the same gloss rating (5) as the 85RD.

I was thinking about ordering some PO85RD, but wanted to ask this question first. If I really don't need it I'll just use what I have.

Thank you.

Sorry for the delay, been kind of busy out in the STC, (Studio-Training-Center), both of these products finish-out LSP ready, maybe use what you already have and when you start getting close to running out pick up some of the PO85RD to get some experience with it and then you'll have a good feel for both products.

No problem.. I know you have more work than you can sometimes handle.. lol

Thanks Mike, you've helped me out a lot. :dblthumb2:

Keep up the great work with the training videos. They are very helpful.
