This is the rare Mercedes Benz AMG SLS. It's also the world's first right-hand drive unit. I had detailed it for its' inaugural launch a few months back but due to a press embargo, couldn't share this earlier. Schumi took this baby for a drift during the F1 PR exercise in Kuala Lumpur *hehe* I love this car! Especially with the extra 30-odd microns of clear-coat thickness to work with compared to the average Mercedes Benz paintwork. :xyxthumbs:

What is the reason for the extra paint?

Is this something Mercedes-Benz is doing for detailers and car owners so we have something to work with over time?

If so... that would be a trend I would like to see travel to other car manufactures...

Great photos...

Hey Mike!

Wouldn't we all love to see that. I'm guessing that it's because the SLS is produced in limited numbers. I doubt it's a unilateral initiative on their part. Continental cars aren't so much the issue as you would know. With some solid experience and a PTG for accuracy, German cars can be detailed and maintained for years on end. It's their Japanese counterparts that have the softest and thinnest paintwork that always keeps you on your toes. Get your hands on a Nissan GT-R, their flagship rocket on steroids and if you had a white pearl paintwork version, you could actually peel off the paint along the gaps of the panels with your fingernails. And it ain't a cheap car either.

I don't go off on a rant very often on forums but when I have in the past it's usually on the topic of topcoat thickness, (film build), or the lack thereof...

I like your Sig Line too...

"Detailing is as much an art as it is a science"

A long time ago I figured out that polishing paint is an art form because not only does it require quality products and good technique, it also requires the human elements of care and passion... experience and skill help a lot too...

Hi poyo,
You're welcome to drop by for a visit. I'm not hiring at the moment as I already have over a dozen detailing crew members on the floor but thanks for indicating your interest. :)

This is a rare classic that was built as a kit from South Africa for one bespoke owner here. It's the only Ford GT40 in the country and participates in a number of classic car races throughout the year. An absolute beauty...

These are some Ferrari shots after we detailed them. It takes us an average of 3-5 days to craft out the perfect finish on each of them. And that's with 2-3 detailing crew members assigned to each vehicle. One of the key things in detailing is consistency. And that is why I am there 6-days a week throughout the day(and night on projects) working with my crew members to ensure that each car is perfectly finished at each stage. Can't leave anything to chance. Slip up and it's gonna bite you in the butt...

Macdude,

Whether you realize or not you're making allot of folks here; jealous, envious, green with envy, leaving them drooling.............. ME included!

You've worked on one of a kind pieces and I can only imagine what the rest of your place looks like. :props:

Great photos and OH, :welcome: to Autogeek!

Awesome photography on some amazing automobiles.
Just checked out your website and WOW what a set up you have over there. You have spared no expense and it shows in your end product. I look forward to seeing more work that you post!

Thanks for the kind words! I consider it a blessing from God to be able to have the opportunity to build our detailing studio.
I apologize for the long leave of absence as the end of the year rush was incredibly hectic and we were busy working 18-hour shifts for over a month. We're still catching our breath from the adrenaline rush! *hehe* God's been blessing us with so many cars to detail that all 25 of our detailing bays were packed through and we had to keep rotating the cars onto our overflow bays just to cope.

Will be sharing some photos of recent cars we detailed soon-ish! :buffing:

Try autodetailer.co without the last "m".

Macdude, good to have you around. Your shop is very nicely designed/executed, probably my favorite set up, and definetely an inspiration!

I agree, you are an inspiration and I am striving to be "you". Truly an asset to the craft, it's guys like you that truly take detailing to the professional "white collar" level.

Thank you for sharing and I eagerly look forward to learning from you.
:hungry:

You cannot get to the level you are at without patience, passion, determination and sweat.

I applaud you sir.

As promised, here's a Lamborghini Gallardo which took our team over 5-days to craft the perfect finish for the paintwork, interior upholstery and engine compartment.

I'm with Bobby. Those are fantasy autos some of us dream about seeing let alone being able to work on.

I personally would never attempt to detail vehicles of that category as I'm not that talented but it's a treat nonetheless to see them.

Awesome pics and thanks for posting. :xyxthumbs:
