liquid wax v. Paste waxes

Count me in the paste wax camp.

Liquid (of course) for sealants.

However, liquid waxes do have their place and I own and use them occasionally, including AIO.

Funnily enough, the liquid wax I've had the most trouble with was Mothers Synthetic Liquid Wax. The results were ok but I just couldn't get it to spread thin at all, and there was a lot of dusting from removal.

I'm a big fan of paste 'waxes' myself, both for ease of application and the cool container. I also agree about being able to get more applications out of a paste vs. a liquid - this has been my overall experience. I do have liquid products, however, and I would never think to discount them - they have their place. Collinite 845, for example, is hard to beat, and only comes in a liquid.

As far as the risk of contamination, just keep a small butter knife on hand, and use it to extract a small amount of paste was from the tin, and apply it to your pad. Afterwards, wipe it with a paper towel to remove any leftover paste and any potential contaminants. Easy.

This is a cleaner/sealant. Not a purist's LSP.

liquid guy, its quicker, but may try doing paste via machine and butter knife to use my two jars of paste( autoglym and fusion)

I am a liquid, liquid and paste guy. Sounds crazy but twice a year after a maintenance polishing, I apply a paint sealant, followed by a liquid wax and then topped off with a carnauba paste - honoring applicable cure time. Then my maintenance waxings (about 4 more per year) are generally just paste, and a spray wax after each wash.

The last liquid/liquid/paste appliction was Griot's Polywax, followed with Best of Show Liquid topped with SSII. Shown here 2001 VW Passat.

Overkill I know, but I enjoy every minute of it.

I think (as mentioned above) that liquids are more synthetic (by nature), and therefor may last a bit longer.

Depends on the specific product of course. That being said, I like to use liquid as my LSP. I can totally control the amount I use, and getting it into/out of tight spots, emblems, etc. is much easier.

This is just my opinion, but you will like it!!! lmao ;)

Which is why even time I look at a tin of paste wax I wonder to myself why some company hasn't tried putting paste wax in a stick deodorant style container.

Dodo Juice did so, The Supernatural Stick 😉

I just wish all LSP's were made in both liquid and paste forms. Last year I was a paste guy...this year I'm more of a liquid guy.

Probably a stupid question but please take kit easy on me: Can paste wax be melted and poured into a wider container that a pad would fit into?
