Bought them for my car and LOVE THEM and to make it even better, their store is about 15 minutes from where I live and when they talk about laser measured to ensure proper fit, well, this is 100% true!

yes, weathertechs are top notch. I'm buying full kit for my car soon.

I have the Weathertech Digital Fit mats in the front and rear wells in my wife's Mazda 3 and I love those things!

I got a pair of niteize buglit micro/keychain flashlights for christmas. I was amazed to see the US flag on the packaging.
Designed and engineered in the USA. Assembled in the US from US and globally sourced components.
They're very well made, clever, little lights.

It's just not 'stuff' that is made in China, one of my text book last semester was "Printed in China." Don't know which China (ROC or PROC), but still, China?

To add, I did not buy it (I had a much older edition that served me well).

Bill
ROC = made in Taiwan. PROC = made in China, or as I call it, COMMUNIST made. When I shop, I look first for Made in the USA. If that fails, I look for made in any country but China (PROC).

This is a very interesting thread. I was recently wondering if anyone still buy American or just wants the best price. Just this quarter, I suggested to Dr G that we should add "made in the USA" to the new coating labels we're having printed up for Opti Lens & Opti Glass. It is definitely something we are proud of and with many coating offerings coming from overseas I thought we should share on the label.

Actually, all of our line from our car care line chemicals to our microfiber pads and OptiMitt are made here. The spray gun we sell to shoot Opti Bond is made in Italy, but that's the only thing I can think of that we source outside the US.

Thats awesome! I will keep that in mind for sure on my next order at AG!

Buy American isn't as easy as you might think...

I grew up in a time where Made in the USA wasn't merely a slogan, it was something that businesses and the American workers took seriously and were very proud of. Patriotism was more than thanking a veteran, it was a loyalty to this country and our way of life.

Manufacturing is critically important to the American economy. For generations, the strength of our country rested on the power of our factory floors. Manufacturing is woven into the structure of our economy, its importance goes far beyond what happens behind the factory gates. The strength or weakness of American manufacturing carries implications for the entire economy, our national security, and the well-being of all Americans.

NAFTA was the knife that stabbed every red blooded American in the back then slit his throat. Our elected politicians crafted the necessary documents then passed them into law which allowed companies to abandon the American worker taking advantage of lower labor and virtually no environmental ramifications....OH, and many payed little or no taxes for long periods of time...

NAFTA was created in 1994 under the guise of “free trade,” an agreement whose purpose was to remove trade barriers between Mexico, Canada and the United States. The result was nothing short of a disaster for both the United States and Mexico.

NAFTA opened up Mexico’s borders to U.S. businesses. What used to be an $18 per hour manufacturing job in America became a $3 per hour job in Mexico. No manufacturer wishing to remain competitive in America could possibly pay $18-20 per hour here when the same product can be produced right across the border in Mexico for just $3 per hour and then shipped back to the U.S. free of charge.

America’s current problem with immigration is a direct byproduct of NAFTA. The amount of immigrants entering the U.S. illegally has more than tripled since 1993, rising from less than four million to over 12 million. Furthermore, since the implementation of NAFTA 300,000 farms have gone out of business and average wages have dropped 13 percent.

Before NAFTA was signed the United States actually traded at a surplus with Mexico. By 2007, a year before the financial collapse, that balance had more than reversed, it had completely imploded. A mere 14 years after signing NAFTA, a small surplus turned into a $91 billion deficit. Factor in Canada and our deficit sat at $191 billion.

When we discuss buying American made products the first thing that comes to my mind is cars and trucks, so lets take a look at where they're actually made...

Toyota
manufacturing plants in the United States have produced the Toyota Avalon, the Toyota Camry, the Toyota Camry Hybrid, the Toyota Corolla, the Toyota Sequoia, the Toyota Sienna, the Toyota Solara, the Toyota Tacoma and the Toyota Tundra.

Hyundai has also opened locations in the United States and around the world. Its manufacturing plant in Montgomery, Alabama produces the Hyundai Genesis, Elantra, Sonata and Santa Fe.

Nissan
North America's Smyrna and Canton facilities are tasked with the bulk of production of Nissan's passenger sedans and SUV models. These models include everything from the Altima and Maxima sedans, to the remainder of Nissan's Truck and SUV lines which include the Titan, Frontier, Armada and Xterra. In addition to these, the Nissan Quest mini-van is also manufactured in the Canton Mississippi plant.

Ford’s
Fusion, Fiesta, and Lincoln MKZ models are built in Mexico, while the Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKX, and Lincoln MKT are built in Canada.

GM vehicles assembled in Canada include Chevrolet's Camaro, Equinox and Impala and the GMC Terrain, while vehicles built in Mexico include Cadillac's SRX and Escalade EXT, Chevrolet's Aveo, HHR, Silverado, and GMC's Sierra.

And alas, even the venerable Corvette is full of parts produced in China and who know where else....:dunno:

I'm proud to say I'm driving my Chevrolet Cruze what was built in Lordstown, Ohio. One of the few GM products in the USA.

Glad to hear this Chris. I remember when we took pride in being the #1 producer of quality products in the world.

My huge tool box and "most" it's contents are filled with "Made in the USA" stamped tools, it cost a small a fortune but was worth it to me. The fact that most of Optimum Car Care products are Made in the USA is a huge plus. Excellent post Chris.

I have Snap On tools, I believe their still made in the USA.

Yes they are (for the most part unless their "blue point"), I have a metric ton of old school Snap-On, Proto, Williams, Matco and Mac tools that my dad handed me down before he passed away. He owned a couple of service stations so I got some really good Made in the USA hand tools. He always bought the good quality tools and I still do that same today. It's expensive but if you work on cars for a living, it's worth it.

I like the one post where it said not all Red Wings are made in the USA, very true as the last Red Wing made in the USA was Chris Chelio's, LOL!

I'm performing live at the local comedy clubs near YOU!

Fiesta Ware is made in the US. Don't beat me up yet, wife dragged me to Khol's to go shopping with her. Happened that we were in the kitchen section and I was looking at a dish she was talking about, flipped it over, and bada-bing, made in the USA, of course i was thinking of this thread when I was flipping the dish over.
