So my dad has had this Sunfish for oh 30+ years. The last 20 or so it's been on cape cod and typically outside and flipped upside down. Well today he wanted to clean it up. So I had some Marine 31 products that I used on it.

Well we had our work cut out. The moss had stained the jel coat bad. We actually had to use 600 grit sand paper and sand the entire hull of the boat. Even that didn't get out all the stains. I then clayed and hit it with two stages of Marine 31 compound and gel coat restorer on a orange and blue pad respectively . Then I put a coat of Meg Tech Wax 2 on it...because it was the only thing I had with me at the time.

It came out ok.

Sorry, some of the pics are out of order. :buffing:

I say that was a great turnaround for sure. Great work. Thanks for sharing. How long did it take from start to finish?

Thanks.

About 5hrs. Most of the time was sanding the hull...what a pain.

Nice turn around. It looks good now.

For staining that bad oxalic acid would have made quick work of it. It's not fun to handle but it works really well.

Thanks. Yea, since it was the hull I wasn't too worried over it.
