Long due detail....

In the 4 years of ownership, my car has never been detailed other than the occasional wash and wax from the dealership... Needless to say, there were tons of swirl marks and scratches all over the car.


I started off with a regular wash 6am in the morning so I wouldn't catch the heat from the sun.

Afterwards, I hit it with IronX and a claybar

Pulled it in the garage afterwards...let the detail begin!

Look at them swirls...

Doing my test spots, unfortunately some required stronger pads but these were the only ones I had

Ready to apply my CarPro CQuartz

Pulled it out the sun for a better view

Overall, this was a long process because I took my time. And more importantly, my first time working with harder paint. I wished I had more aggressive pads to take out some of the deeper scratches. Otherwise, I am pretty satisfied with the whole process. Thanks for watching!

What polisher and liquids did you use?

How do you like CQ?

Alpine White isn't too hard in my experience.

I had an issue with the orange pads on my MB. Damn hard paint.

Yipronny, great job, vehicle looks fantastic, as Marc08ex asked, give use some detail on the products I just got a 2106 BMW 428 IX coupe in Alpine White, spent 16 hours detailing it inside and out after I brought it home from the dealership. I would not allow the to take off the plastic sheets that BMW puts on for shipping. The salesman had the car delivered then watched my wife and I take off all the plastic then inspect the vehicle inside and out.

Great job man! Detailed at a bmw dealership for a while and that was a popular color for the 3 series...the arctic color is nice on certain cars after its freshly polished and waxed too..... those p-zeros are like rubber bands on those wheels!!

Thanks for all the responses!! It has been a while since I have done any detail work so all the products I had were waaaay old. I just picked up Meguiar's m105 and m205 combo at the autoshop down the street. The polisher I used was a Griot Garage DA 3' and 6.5'

Any suggestion on what products to use next time or types of pads to make for a better job? Thanks!!

What kind of pads you working with right now? What you just used obv worked out great but I'm the type to like to try all different pads and products

Looks awesome, great job and attention to detail!
Maybe you could of gotten away with not using m105 or a least agressive method?
Not too sure though as i've only done 1 bmw.
