LOng lasting Tire coating suggestions??

I remember seeing a product called black magic it last for about 6 weeks. IS this good or is this similar to the oily based endurance.

I prefer to have something that doesn't sling as much

My go to tire coating is Black Pearl also. Its a great product and holds it shine far better then Tuf-shine. I have it on my wifes car and Tuf-Shine on our tahoe. Here is a nice picture of Black Pearl on a jeep I did awhile back and my wifes Optima.

Any comments on Car Pro Pearl. I just ordered some form AG along with foam tire applicators. I have been using Megs Endurance Gel, looks good lasts maybe 2 weeks. It is messy to apply, solvent based. Pearl is suppose to be water based. Hopefully it will be easier to clean up and maybe better on the environmentt ??

PERL doesn't last. I use Turtle Wax Endura Tire Shine. Lasts months

I use PERL 1:1 on everything I do if they don't want to up grade to a long term coating like Black Pearl or Tuf-Shine

FWIW, PERL has (at the very least) variable "lasting" properties. ;)

Helps to apply it via sprayer, and if is to last (at all past the first time it gets damp) it needs to dry overnight (on tires).

All this talk about "black pearl".

Did you know that there are TWO companies out there selling a tire shine/coating with that name? One wants $5.00 a bottle whilst the other wants SEVENTY FIVE ($75.00) a bottle.

Good GOD!

Now I like good looking tires as well as the next guy.... but I honestly don't see the need for $75 or so for a tire coating when I'm probably going to wash the car and reapply a new coating every couple weeks (at least)...... LOOOOONG before that magical 4 months period ever arrives. :D

Check out our thread for the Turtle Wax tire coating, like mentioned earlier, not the aerosol either:thumbdown: The kit is available locally, priced under $20.00, well under and just simply does the jobb, period! No "hype" and high price either!

You will get an "honest" 2 monthes out of the coating before wanting to re-apply, notice I said "wanting" and not needing. Unless its raining everyday this product will last a solid 2 monthes. After a month its still black and the tires look natrual, after that they stay black w/ NO browning to be found. Its up to you how and when you re-apply;)

Yep you just wash the tires like the rest of your car with the turtle wax and they are clean and good looking still

As far as car pro Perl I am not very impressed on tires spraying or applying with applicator waiting hours or multiple coats works well in engine compartment and stuff like that

TW is applied with an applicator, swipe on after cleaning and its bone dry in 10 minutes, then you can apply a 2nd coat if you'd like, again, 10 mins and its dry to the touch, that's it, no chance of sling...EVER:thumbup:

black pearl comes in 2 different sizes and one that is 24.99 and one that is 74.99 you can get 2 coats on your wheels with the smaller option and get up to 8 months worth of protection on your tires. it comes in a clear, matte or gloss finish. not very different in price from the TW you are talking about

You can get the TW for $10 ($3 if you take advantage of the rebate) and after 8 months I'll still have some left. I'm sure the Black Pearl is great, but I wouldn't say they are almost the same price.

Like others said, the TW is a winner in price as well. Available at your local stores so no shipping costs, no waiting for packages, etc. You can get them for under $10! No contest.

"IF", well once you apply the TW to a clean tire there is NO reason to remove it, trust me/us. It will "tone down" after a month of "average" washes and weather but when I say "tone down" what I mean is that it will go from a nice sheen to an above average looking new tire, all along holding its own to the weather and washes, it doesn't wash off and doesn't turn brown after a month. It simply is the best tire dressing/coating on the market and the fact that its available OTC, a win win:thumbup:

MY go to lately is Mothers Reflections Tire Care. It is most definitely an unsung hero in my bag! I tried that Meg's Endurance ONE time. What a terrible mess that is!

Mothers Reflections Tire Care has been one of may favorites.

What is the specific name of the TW product you are referring to? Thanks. You seem impressed so I want to get some.

Turtle Wax Jet Black tire coating. It comes in a box w/ tire cleaner, gloves and special applicator (but other applicators work fine) Don't bother with the aerosol version, its gotten not so good reviews and while I can't comment on that product the one here I can and as you can tell I'm a HUGE fan:thumbup:
