So as most of you know I have a pretty clean well maintained GTO with a host of goodies including a new Procharger setup. What most don`t know is that the only reason I had originally bought this car was due to a tough finical decision a little over 3 years ago forcing me to sell my pride and joy of over 10 years. My 2000 SS Camaro.

So the Camaro was a little less street friendly being swapped over to a built TH350 transmission with trans brake, 4400 converter, Moser 9 inch rearend, 4.11 gear, big cam, nitrous setup, NO A/C but full interior with stereo system and leather. Plus who can forget the expensive custom paint job I had done. Basically the car was a street strip car that I really couldn`t justify having at that point in my life. My oldest son was devastated when I sold it as he loved the sound and helping dad!

So fast forward to about 1.5 weeks ago while I was in Florida detailing. I get a message from the owner basically stating he is thinking of selling and wants me to buy it back. No major issues with it other than being dirty lol.

So here`s my dilemma. I can sell my GTO, buy the Camaro back and finish building it how I always wanted too and have more memories with my kids. And pocket a few thousand dollars in the process. My wife and kids are definitely on board.

Or I pass on my only chance to get it back and continue with the GTO. As of now I do have the GTO listed for sale but not sure how long it will take to sell. Really in a pickle here lol. Anyone want a gto pm me lol!

You have to go with the Camaro. Before you know it the kids are grown and gone doing their own thing. Go for it...besides it's a Camaro what's to think about???

I'm an f-body nut so the Camaro is a no-brainer for me! :-p

I just sold my 2000 Firehawk because I had a daughter in February and I never got to drive it and I could really use the money for something more useful at this point in my life.

Sentimental value will always beat everything else out, especially if now you are in a position where you can buy it back.

I sold my 00 Camaro back in '10 or '11 and haven't looked back. Probably would never go back to one after experiencing a couple other platforms. Now I'd love to have my '70 SS again though.
Just my $.02.

Don`t pocket the $.Install a Gear Vendors Overdrive in the Camaro to make it more street friendly with the 4.11`s and first gear in the 350 and go with a lower stall converter. You can choose the gears that best suits your cam profile.IMHO.

Yeah that's actually crossed my mind. Don't plan on lowering the stall speed. My actual plan is to do a custom turbo setup and ditch the nitrous, send the converter back to FTI to have it setup for the turbo, and swap the 4.11 to a 3.50 gear in the Moser 9 inch rear.

The problem I have with big stalls on the street are people.More specifically drivers in front of me and slow moving traffic. It`s a killer on transmissions and now you are going with a higher rear ratio.I`ve gotten one moving violation in 35 years. It was in my BB 3200 stall 69 Camaro doing 35 mph in a 35 mph zone.Cop asks "You know why I pulled you over?" Defendant`s answer -"Cause......I got a cool car". "Over-reving your motor". Can`t get out of first gear going that slow.

The problem with the GTO is as time goes on, parts for that car that arent engine related (since its a basic LS2) are going to be hard to come by. Get the Camaro back...someone will snatch the GTO up in due time. There isnt a cleaner one out there!

[Chant]Camaro!!! Camaro!! Camaro!![End Chant]

Not sure why there is any other thought - besides keeping both beauties.... :dblthumb2::buffing:

And yet another Camaro vote, from a 3 time owner (an '83 5.0 auto, an '89 5.0 5 spd and a '13 3.6 6 speed)

No need to wait. The GTO parts are already through the roof!!!!

Thanks guys. It may happen. I have a been talking with someone who is very interested. Already gave him a number. He really wants it bad. Plus he already has a 1000hp viper too!

That has already been an issue with 4th gen fbodies. Getting a sail panel when the stocker started bubbling due to the adhesive issue was impossible. Couldn't find them when I had mine. 6LE finally got some made, but he is the only vendor so what happens if he goes out of business? There are still other parts that you have to get from salvage.
With the gto, you also have Holden Monaro parts that can be used elsewhere.
