What product provides long lasting protection and a great shine all while being easy to apply/remove and won't stain trim?

Is Collinite 845 the only option?

Collinite and Duragloss are great options for this.
These are the ones I've used and I am sure there are more.

FK1000p. I removed fresh road tar/sling on a freshly sealed (FK1000p) lower body panel. The rinseless wash (D114 and Uber) beaded after using Stoner's tarminator. I was impressed.

Not sure about staining with FK1000p, just keep it off the trim:)

<<<often gets wax/sealant on trim, swears afterwards, next time he will be more careful.

I'd suggest some of the coatings like the M37 paint coat. Super easy to apply. If you can apply collinite, you can apply this. Shines great, even when the car is dirty, and is supposed to last up to 2 years.
Now the easy removal part may be the issue.

agreed as well.

If you want a really long term product with a very nice shine, coatings are the way to go. McKees 37 coating or the black label coating, those are easy to use.

Klasse AIO paired up with Klasse SG is another good option for high endurance protection.

I have a metric ton of trim on my car and never had a problem with 845 staining. I think others use it on trim, but wipe it off right a way.

Cheapest is collinite 845... (Or 476).

If your wash technique is solid then a coating is worthwhile.. If you do drive through then it's a waste of time and harder to regularly recover...

Pick what suits your situation and interest level...
